Odds as of November 17th at FanDuel

Schroder Continues to Thrive in Starting Role

Dennis Schroder was brought in by the Boston Celtics this past offseason to add more depth and versatility to their backcourt. While he’s mostly featured in the second unit, the guard has been starting ever since Jaylen Brown went on the shelf with a hamstring injury on November 18th. During that span, Schroder has absolutely thrived, averaging 25 points per game in his last four outings.

It’s not surprising, though. He’s getting more opportunities to have the ball in his hands with Brown out of the picture. While the German struggled to fit in LA last season, he seems to be finding his place with Boston. In fact, on Friday, Schroder erupted for a season-high 38 points against the defending champion Milwaukee Bucks in a big win for the C’s.

Whether he’s using his quickness to drive to the hoop and finish inside or settling for good looks from beyond the arc, Schroder is in his bag right now. Considering he’s hit the over in points in four of the last five games, it’s a safe bet he does it again. The Hawks are also dreadful defensively so far, sitting 28th in the Association.

  • Pick: Dennis Schroder Over 17.5 Points (-116)

LaVine Makes it Rain

Zach LaVine and the Chicago Bulls just rolled into Los Angeles and took care of business against the Lakers and Clippers. The shooting guard was a huge part of that, combining for 55 points through the two victories. LaVine was shooting the lights out, going 6-for-13 in both contests from three-point range.

Now, the Bulls head to the Pacific Northwest to take on a struggling Portland Trail Blazers squad. While there was a day off for Billy Donovan’s group on Tuesday, LaVine is really thriving from beyond the arc at the moment. The ball movement on this Bulls team is terrific and they’re finding a lot of open looks.

It only takes a couple of threes to go down in order for him to find a rhythm once again. There is also no better opponent to do it against than Portland, who allows their opponents to shoot 38% from long range. Take the over here and ride LaVine to get hot.

Pick: Zach LaVine Over 2.5 Three-Pointers (-140)
