It took a virtuoso Devin Booker performance with a Kevin Durant super-charged wingman show just for the Phoenix Suns to get back into their Round 2 series with the Denver Nuggets.
Now trailing 2-1, we’ll find out if they can sustain that level of play to even the series heading back to Denver.
The Nuggets, meanwhile, will seek that all-important split, which would set up the first closeout game in this half of the West’s NBA Playoff Bracket.
Game 4 goes Sunday (May 7) at 10pm ET from the Footprint Center in Phoenix, AZ. You can watch the game live on TNT.
Nuggets vs Suns Game 4 Odds
Team | Spread | Moneyline | Total |
---|---|---|---|
Denver Nuggets | +2.5 (-110) | +120 | O 227.5 (-110) |
Phoenix Suns | -2.5 (-110) | -140 | U 227.5 (-110) |
Denver was pegged as a 4-point dog in Game 3, but the NBA odds have shortened, with the Suns just 2.5-point home favorites in Game 4, and -140 on the moneyline, an implied win probability of 58.33%.
The total is set at 227.5 points, a 3-point bump from last game, a figure the teams cruised by as Phoenix rolled 121-114.

Suns Deal Nuggets 2nd Loss of Playoffs
Booker was unstoppable Friday night, tying a career-high with 47 points, adding six rebounds, nine assists and three steals, dealing the top-seeded Nuggets their second loss in the postseason.
His lethal precision was on display, as D-Book shot 20-for-25 from the field and shot just two free throws, which came with under 10 seconds to play in the game. It’s the third time he’s gone for 45+ in eight playoff games this season.
Durant added 39 points, nine rebounds, eight assists and two blocks. He shot just 12-for-31, but made hay at the stripe, hitting 14 of 16.

While that offensive display was impressive and necessary, some help would be nice, especially considering Chris Paul (groin) is expected to miss his second straight game. The other three starters combined for 13 points, but credit Monty Williams for dusting off reserves TJ Warren (7 pts, 3 reb) and Terrence Ross (5 pts), who should see more action in Game 4.
For the Nuggets, Nikola Jokic continued to shred the opposition, dropping 31 points, 17 rebounds and a career playoff-best 17 assists. His play helped Denver slice into a 15-point halftime deficit, while getting close to making this really interesting.
HISTORIC Game 3 from Nikola Jokic!

Jamal Murray had 32 points, six boards and five dimes, but faded in the fourth quarter, shooting just 1-for-8 for four points. Michael Porter Jr chipped in with 21 points and 12 boards.
Head coach Michael Malone kept the rotation tight, with only eight players getting burn in Game 3.
Denver vs Phoenix Same-Game Parlay
It’s a crucial Game 4, so our 4-leg Same-Game parlay is star heavy with a +950 payout.
Let’s start with Booker, who is leading the playoffs in scoring at 36.9 points per game. He’s cleared 32.5 points in three of his last four games, and five times in seven playoff games.
Nuggets vs Suns Game 4 Same-Game Parlay
Pick | Odds |
---|---|
Devin Booker OVER 32.5 points | +110 |
Deandre Ayton UNDER 14.5 points | -120 |
Nikola Jokic OVER 27.5 points | -105 |
Nikola Jokic OVER 8.5 assists | +100 |
Same-Game Parlay Odds | +950 |
Jokic has had his way in this series, going for 30+ in the last two games and cracking 27.5 points in four of his last five outings. While he has only crossed the assist total once in three games this series, I think a Jokic triple-double is lurking.
As for Ayton, he had his best rebound game of the series (9) while potting just four points. He’s just not at the level of the 2-time MVP, and he rode pine in favor of Jock Landale down the stretch. He’s yet to hit 15 points in a game this series.

Nuggets vs Suns Prediction
Denver is shooting the 3-ball at 37.5% in the playoffs, but hit just 10-for-30 in Game 3 (33.3%). The Suns are hitting at 35% from distance, but connected on 9-for-28, a 32.1% clip.
And yet, these teams are so slick offensively, topping the total wasn’t a problem.
We should expect more fireworks, as Phoenix is still in “empty the holster” mode to get back into this series. Falling 3-1 is a near- impossible deficit to overcome, and with their defense and depth suspect, they’re going to have to outscore their problems.
The over has hit in 12 of the last 16 in Phoenix in this head-to-head, while Denver has hit the over in five of their last seven games.
If you prefer a pick, consider Denver is 5-1 against the spread in their last six, with the one betting loss in Game 3. For us? That total is too good to pass up.
Pick:
- OVER 227.5 points (-110); 1.5 units to win 1.36 units
