Perhaps the most significant injury for this matchup is OKC forward Jalen Williams, as the All-Star will miss the game with a hip injury.

Boston’s Jayson Tatum (knee) may also be sidelined, though he’s still listed as questionable, as is Kristaps Porzingis (illness). Jaylen Brown (knee) is listed as probable.

NBA player props from DraftKings on March 12.

No surprise that Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, the NBA’s leading scorer and the overwhelming favorite in the NBA MVP odds, has the highest scoring prop at 32.5 points. He’s cruised past that total in three of his last four outings.

Boston’s all-star tandem of Tatum and Brown have the second and third highest scoring totals, while Tatum has the largest rebound prop for the C’s at 9.5. He’s gone for double-digit boards in three of his last four outings. OKC’s Isaiah Hartenstein has the top rebounding total at 10.5.

Tatum also has the highest 3-point make line of any player Wednesday, but that might be a little inflated after hitting at least five threes in back-to-back games over the 76ers and Lakers. He had gone nine straight games Under five triples prior to that.

Oklahoma City vs Boston Celtics Picks

  • Thunder vs Celtics pick: Thunder +4.5 (-112)
  • Thunder vs Celtics prop bet: Tatum Under 4.5 3-point makes (-130)

Thunder vs Celtics Predictions

OKC hardly ever loses, and after dropping a 140-127 decision to Denver last time out, I have them bouncing back and covering in this mega-matchup on Wednesday night.

The Thunder have lost back-to-back games just once this season, way back on November 17 and 19, in losses to the Mavericks and Spurs.

They’re also one of the best cover teams on the road, going 17-12-2 against the spread as a vistitor.

They also own the lone head-to-head win in this matchup this season, toppling the C’s 105-92 on January 5, a game where they limited Boston to just 27 second-half points and a miserable 9-for-46 from 3-point range, a paltry 19.6% clip.

Without Williams, though, the Celtics could put the vice grips on an OKC offense that’s been averaging 123.6 points over the last five games.

Boston’s defense has been superb, limiting opponents to 107 points per game during their win streak, which is second only to Miami during this run. After an impressive win over the streaking Lakers, they looked ho-hum in a 114-108 win over the Jazz, failing to cover as massive 16-point favorites.

Boston hasn’t been a great home favorite this year, running a record of 15-19-0 ATS. Even more remarkable? The Celtics are among the worst cover teams in basketball when coming off a win.

Their 14-31-1 ATS mark in that scenario is 29th in the league, with only the Suns converting at a worse rate.

There’s really not much more this regular season the defending champs have to prove – they playoffs are where they’re going to do their thing.

While OKC will have their attention, even a depleted Thunder roster will be able to make enough plays to cover.
