Auburn Betting Trends

The defense has been Auburn’s strength this season. The Tigers are 40th nationally in points allowed (61.8), 26th in opponents’ field goal percentage (38.9) and fourth in three-point percentage allowed (26.2).]

Sophomore forward Johni Broome is second in the SEC in blocked shots with an average of 2.7 a game. He is also fifth in rebounding (8.4) while averaging 12.3 points a game.

Broome transferred from Morehead State after being named the Ohio Valley Conference’s Defensive Player of the Year last season.

Junior guard Wendell Green Jr. is Auburn’s top scorer with a 12.7 average. He is also grabbing 3.8 rebounds and dishing 3.5 assists a game.

Senior forward Jaylin Williams is averaging 10.3 points and 5.3 assists.

Broome had 14 points, 11 rebounds and four blocked shots in the win over Florida. It was his second double-double of the season.

Green also had 14 points and Williams added 13 on a night when Auburn shot 38.2% (21 of 55) overall and 21.4% (3 of 14) on three-pointers. The Tigers have made just 29.7% of their shots from distance to rank 331st in the country.

Auburn also committed 15 turnovers but outrebounded Florida 40-28 and had 17 offensive boards. The Tigers also limited the Gators to 3 of 19 (15.8%) on three-pointers.

Georgia Betting Trends

Georgia is off to its best start in 13 years and recorded 10 wins by the end of December for just the fourth time in the program’s 118-year history. Hiring coach Mike White away from Florida to replace Tom Crean appears to have been a great move for the Bulldogs.

A holdover from last season’s 6-26 team, junior guard Kario Oquendo is Georgia’s top scorer at 14.3 points a game. He and senior guard Terry Roberts had 17 points each to lead the Bulldogs over Rider.

Roberts has been stuffing the stat sheet in his first season after transferring from Bradley. Roberts has averages of 14.1 points, 4.4 assists, 3.8 rebounds and 1.8 steals.

He is second in the conference in assists.

Against Rider, junior guard Jabri Adbur-Rahimn had 15 points on 5-of-8 shooting from three-point range, and senior guard Mardez McBride added 11 points.

Georgia shot a sizzling 13 of 25 (52.0%) on three-point tries while holding Rider to 4 of 17 (23.5%). The Bulldogs are 35th nationally in three-point defense with 29.1.%

Auburn vs Georgia Prediction

Auburn has won eight of the last 10 matchups with Georgia, including beating the Bulldogs twice last season. In the second meeting of 2021-22, the Tigers notched a 74-72 victory in Athens as Green had 19 points for Auburn and Oquendo scored 25 points for the Bulldogs.

Georgia’s program is trending in the right direction. The Bulldogs might not knock off Auburn, but they can keep it close.
