  • What are the best win total bets on the board?

A new season of college basketball tips off Tuesday, November 5th, and you can now bet on the win totals of your favorite hoops program. There are plenty of profitable betting opportunities on the board, starting with Gonzaga, who appear poised to regress from their 30-win campaign a season ago.

These college basketball win totals include the regular season and the conference tournament, but not the NCAA tournament.

One of the pitfalls of being an elite program is that your best players often graduate to the next level. The Bulldogs’ top three scorers and rebounders from last season have moved on to NBA rosters, and in total just two of the Zags’ eight primary rotation players from a year ago are back for 2019-20.

They failed to land a single five-star recruit and have major uncertainty at the guard position. Two graduate transfers and a freshman are expected to earn most of the playing time, and the inexperience at such a vital position could lead to rocky moments early on. They haven’t lost more than one conference game since 2015-16, but the WCC should be much more competitive this season, thanks to experienced Saint Mary’s and Utah State teams.

Gonzaga will also face Arizona and North Carolina, two top-21 out of conference teams, giving them two more opportunities to slip up. The new faces and tougher schedule make the Zags an early under candidate to pounce on.

Pick: Gonzaga Under 29 Wins (-115)

28 -115 -115

Speaking of tough schedules, few teams have as difficult a slate as the Florida Gators this season, making their season win total of 28 an easy under play. Just four players are back from last year’s team and head coach Mike White is already warning Florida fans to temper expectations early on.

The Gators are welcoming in nine new players and will face a gruelling 18-game SEC schedule. Yes, they’ll feature a strong group of sophomores and number one grad transfer Kerry Blackshear, but their outside shooting concerns are still a major problem that has yet to be solved.

Ultimately, there are too many potential losses on a schedule that includes number two Kentucky twice, number 22 LSU twice, plus games versus number 16 Baylor, number 17 Utah State and number 24 Auburn.

Pick: Florida Under 28 Wins (-115)

2019-20 Maryland Season Win Total Odds

Maryland has a history of failing to live up to its potential and this could be another season where expectations aren’t met in College Park. The Terps are rated seventh in the preseason AP top-25, but 16th in Ken Pom’s efficiency rankings, behind three other Big Ten programs. They landed just the 28th best recruiting class in 2019, and need to fill the massive void left by Bruno Fernando.

Fernando averaged a double-double last season, played over 75% of the team’s minutes and had a true shooting percentage of 65.3%. That type of talent doesn’t grow on trees. Fortunately for Maryland, they still have dynamic scorers Anthony Cowan and Jalen Smith, but a lot of the team’s success hinges on sophomores making big second year leaps.

They lost 11 games last season, including seven against ranked opponents, and a win total of 28 doesn’t leave room for that many slip ups this year. Two games against number one Michigan State and number 18 Ohio State, plus one-offs against number 12 Seton Hall, number 23 Purdue and pesky opponents like Minnesota and Wisconsin make the under seem like the right side.

Pick: Maryland Under 28 Wins (-115)
