  • Georgia travels to Kentucky to face the Wildcats in their SEC opener
  • Kentucky has lost 14 straight games vs Georgia
  • See below for the Georgia vs Kentucky predictions, odds, and player props for this CFB Week 3 matchup

Georgia opens their SEC schedule on the road at Kentucky on Saturday, September 14. This game is scheduled to kick off at 7:30 ET. Kentucky played an SEC game last week and lost to South Carolina 31-6. The Bulldogs have owned this rivalry of late winning fourteen games in a row. Kentucky’s last win over Georgia was all the way back in 2009 when the Wildcats won 34-27 in Athens.

Kentucky will be looking to bounce back after a tough start to SEC play, while Georgia will look to continue dominating their opponents on their quest to make the college football playoff bracket. Keep reading to see my predictions for Georiga vs Kentucky.

Georgia vs Kentucky Prediction

Georgia has not only dominated this series, but they have outscored their first two opponents this season 82-6. Their last game was against FCS Tennessee Tech, but they beat Clemson in their first game 34-3. It almost looks impossible to score on this Georgia defense. Heading into Week 3 without allowing a touchdown is impressive, to say the least. On the offensive side of the ball, Carson Beck looks to have improved from last season despite losing Brock Bowers to the NFL. They have strong pass-catchers and want to run the ball with Florida transfer, Trevor Etienne.

Kentucky’s offense could not move the ball against South Carolina, and I expect quarterback Brock Vandagriff to struggle against his old team. The Wildcats do have a good defense, so I expect them to come up with enough stops which keeps me from laying the big spread with Georgia. The Bulldogs have Alabama on deck, so even though it is not like Kirby Smart to take the air out of the ball, it is a slight look-ahead spot for them. I like both defenses enough to keep this game from going over the total of 45.

Even if I am hesitant to lay 22 points with Georgia, I expect them to come out with some fire and get up early to take the crowd out of the game. Georgia should still win by multiple scores, and I especially like Georgia to be leading by at least a touchdown heading into the second quarter.

UGA vs UK Picks:

Georgia 1Q -6.5 (-115)

Georgia/Kentucky Under 45 (-110)

Georgia vs Kentucky Betting Trends

Heading into Week 3, Georgia is 1-1 against the spread. They covered the spread as a double-digit favorite against Clemson in Week 1 but failed to cover the 55-point spread against Tennessee Tech. Kentucky is also 1-1 against the spread this season. The Wildcats covered their 25.5-point spread in Week 1 against Southern Mississippi but lost outright to South Carolina as 9-point favorites the next week.

Both of these teams are ranked in the top ten in total defense to start the season. Georgia is ranked fifth and has allowed just 161 yards per game. Kentucky has allowed 191.5 yards per game and is ranked eighth. Carson Beck, who currently has the third-best Heisman odds, has led Georgia’s offense to an average of 472.5 yards per game, while the Wildcats have averaged just 250 yards through their first two games.

College football player props odds as of September 13 at bet365.

Trevor Etienne made his Georgia debut last week against Tennessee Tech. Etienne got his feet wet with just five carries, but he took those carries for 78 yards. He also added 14 yards through the air on two receptions. His usage will only continue to grow as he plays more games, especially against SEC opponents, where Georgia will need him more. I like him to rush for over 67.5 yards against Kentucky.

Georgia vs Kentucky Player Prop Pick: Trevor Etienne Over 67.5 Rushing Yards (-115)
