The No. 1 Texas Longhorns face their toughest test of the season as they host the No. 5 Georgia Bulldogs in a highly-anticipated SEC clash on Saturday. With both teams boasting potent offenses and stingy defenses, this matchup is ripe with player prop betting opportunities.
Let’s dive into some of the most intriguing player props for this game, focusing on Texas quarterback Quinn Ewers, Georgia’s receiving corps, and Longhorns tight end Gunnar Helm.

Prop Pick #1: Quinn Ewers Over 257.5 Passing Yards (-115)
My first Georgia vs Texas prop bet is for Quinn Ewers to exceed his passing yards prop of 257.5. The junior signal-caller has been spectacular in limited action this season, completing 72.2% of his passes for 980 yards and nine touchdowns.
The Texas QB has shown his ability to perform in big games, including against Michigan earlier this season. Ewers completed 24 of 36 passes for 246 yards and three touchdowns in that matchup. In his last high-stakes home game (Big 12 Title), Ewers lit up the scoreboard with 318 yards and three touchdowns.
Georgia’s pass defense, while still solid, has shown some vulnerability this season. The Bulldogs rank 87th in the country in defensive success rate on dropbacks. They recently allowed Mississippi State’s backup QB Michael Van Buren Jr. to pass for 306 yards, and they’re giving up 7.12 yards per attempt.
Steve Sarkisian is likely to employ a strategy that takes advantage of Georgia’s defensive shortcomings. The Longhorns have one of the most talented receiving corps in the country, led by Isaiah Bond and Ryan Wingo, which should help Ewers rack up the passing yards.
With Georgia’s recent struggles against intermediate and short passes, particularly on out patterns and outside curl routes, Ewers could find success in the passing game. Take the ‘over’ on his passing props as he aims to bolster his Heisman odds.

Prop Pick #2: Dominic Lovett Under 55.5 Receiving Yards (-115)
One player I’m fading in the UGA vs Texas props is Bulldogs WR Dominic Lovett. Georgia wide receiver Dominic Lovett has yet to truly break out this season, averaging 50.3 receiving yards per game and going under 56 yards in four of six games.
The Longhorns boast a lethal defense that has held opponents to just 4.2 yards per pass attempt this season. This will be the toughest secondary Lovett and the Bulldogs have faced so far in 2024.

While Texas’ defense hasn’t faced an elite offense like Georgia’s, they have shut down the top receivers on respectable teams like Michigan and Oklahoma. In tough matches (Clemson 2024, Bama 2023), Lovett hasn’t come close to his Saturday prop number.
Furthermore, Georgia’s offense is dealing with injuries to key players like running backs Roderick Robinson and Branson Robinson. This should allow Texas to focus more on shutting down the passing game and limiting Lovett’s production.
While Lovett has been consistent, recording at least three catches in every game this season, he hasn’t shown enough to make us think he will surpass 55.5 yards in his biggest test.
- Pick: Dominic Lovett Under 55.5 Receiving Yards (-115)
Prop Pick #3: Gunnar Helm Anytime Touchdown Scorer (+140)
For my anytime touchdown pick, I’m riding with Longhorns tight end Gunnar Helm to find paydirt. The senior has become a reliable red zone target for Quinn Ewers this season, catching 21 passes for 311 yards and two scores.
Helm recently balled out in Red River, hauling in five receptions for 91 yards and a touchdown. This continued his streak of strong games, including a standout showing against Michigan, where he caught seven passes for 98 yards and another score.
#Texas TE Gunnar Helm (6-5, 250, #85)
A prospect that’s experiencing a breakout season (21/311/2), he’s inserted his name into what’s already a good TE class and seeing his stock climb. Impressive during my live-viewing of him.

Georgia’s defense has struggled at times to contain opposing tight ends. In that marquee game against Alabama, Tide TE CJ Dippre hauled in four passes for 38 yards. Bama used their tight ends to create matchup advantages, and I expect UGA to follow suit.
At +140 odds, Helm presents solid value as an anytime touchdown scorer. His size (6’5″, 235 lbs) and athleticism make him a tough matchup for defenders, and he should be a key target for Ewers in scoring situations.
