There’s a ton of parity in college football this year and the MAC is no exception.

This week’s slate of games on Wednesday night promises to provide some entertainment with a trio of great match ups. Let’s dive into each tilt and shine a spotlight on the best value bet on the board.

Ball State vs Northern Illinois Odds

Team Spread Moneyline Total
Ball State -2.5 (-110) -138 O 61.5 (-114)
Northern Illinois +2.5 (-110) +112 U 61.5 (-106)

All odds as of Nov. 9th at FanDuel

Ball State and Northern Illinois get the national television game treatment with this one on ESPN2 at 7:00 Eastern. The Cardinals are 2.5 point favorites but the total is likely the number you should focus on. Ball State quarterback Drew Plitt is quietly having a strong campaign with 1,776 passing yards and 14 touchdowns to go with only four interceptions.

The reason the total is so appealing however is their opponent in the Huskies. Northern Illinois lost last week, 52-47, to Kent State in a game that cleared the number by 32.5 points.

Quarterback Rocky Lombardi had a school record 532 passing yards and three touchdowns, all of which were caught by Trayvon Rudolph. The electric Rudolph finished with 309 receiving yards and should be a threat to go off again this weekend.

  • The Pick: Over 61.5 (-114)

Toledo vs Bowling Green Odds

Team Spread Moneyline Total
Toledo -10.5 (-110) -480 O 50.5 (-110)
Bowling Green +10.5 (-110) +350 U 50.5 (-110)

CBS Sports Network has the Battle of I-75 at 7:00EST. The double digit spread and low total suggest the oddsmakers don’t love Bowling Green’s chances of putting up much of a fight. They aren’t wrong about wanting to fade the Falcons but they do play exciting football. Their last three games have combined for 239 points.

Toledo is favored by 10.5 points and despite the temping total, the better play is likely siding with the Rockets. Running back Bryant Koback is by far the best player on the field and should have an easy time shredding the Falcons suspect defense. Koback has 830 rushing yards and eight touchdowns this year while averaging 6.1 yards per carry. Trust him to have a big day while the Rockets easily cover the number.

The Pick: Toledo -10.5 (-110)

Kent State vs Central Michigan Odds

Team Spread Moneyline Total
Kent State +2.5 (-110) +114 O 75.5 (-110)
Central Michigan -2.5 (-110) -140 U 75.5 (-110)

ESPNU heads to Mount Pleasant, Michigan to broadcast this one at 8:00EST. Central Michigan won the last match up between these two teams by 19 points but that was back in 2017. Taking a look at more recent results, CMU is 2-7 against the spread this year while Kent State is 1-5 against the spread in their last six on the road. To put it simply, betting the spread seems like a risky proposition.

Switching gears to the more promising wager, the total has already moved north and now sits at 75.5 points. The reason for the rush to bet the over? It’s 5-0 in the last five meetings between these two teams. Sometimes when something seems too good to be true, it is. The odds makers over corrected and the public is falling into the trap. Wait for the number to keep climbing and bet the streak to end.

The Pick: Under 75.5 (-110)
