Heading into the weekend action for NFL Week 5, there are several teams lined at a touchdown or more favorites that could offer good opportunities for NFL parlays. There are also several teams with great teaser potential this weekend as well.

Week 4 had us splitting once again at 1-1. The Eagles and Packers cashed in the parlay. However, after the first two legs of the teaser came in on Sunday, all we needed was for the Rams to not get blown out on MNF. A task they could not complete, thus making us 1-1, -0.04 units on the week and 3-5, -2.18 units on the season.

Below we’ve picked out a few teams to include for your NFL Week 5 parlays and teasers this weekend.

NFL Week 5 Parlay Picks

There are a few more obvious “looking” options to pick from this week for NFL parlays and we’ve selected three of them to include here. As you can see above they are the Packers, Vikings and Chiefs to win their games parlayed at +109 odds.

Giants vs Packers

  • Pick: Packers

We’ll start off our NFL parlay for Week 5 across the pond in London at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium with the Packers as 8-point favorites playing the Giants. Green Bay needed a game-winning overtime field goal to defeat Bailey Zappe and the New England Patriots 27-24, but they’re now on a three-game win streak.

Zappe is the Pats’ third-string quarterback. This week, it was looking like they play against another third-string QB as both Daniel Jones (ankle) and Tyrod Taylor (head) were injured in Week 4, forcing RB Saquon Barkley to finish the game at QB. At one point it looked like the G-Men would turn to Davis Webb, their only other QB on the roster. Webb has never started an NFL game. They also had AJ McCarron and Jake Fromm working out with the team this week. However, during the week, Jones has been involved in practice and does look to be making strides towards starting on Sunday.

Green Bay’s offense hasn’t been anything special despite having Aaron Rodgers under center, but give me Rodgers to simply win the game over a banged-up Jones or a  QB off the street any day for this NFL parlay.

Even if Jones plays, I still don’t like the Giants to win. Jones is just 67/105 for 631 yards and three touchdowns on the year. Those 631 yards are behind the likes of Mitchell Trubisky, Baker Mayfield, Joe Flacco and Davis Mills. No matter who lines up under center for New York, they’re still in trouble.

Bears vs Vikings

  • Pick: Vikings

The Vikings are unpredictable. They’re 3-1 but could easily be 1-3. They needed a big comeback against Detroit and a double-doinked missed field goal in London last week to hold onto a narrow 28-25 win against the Saints. That inconsistency and the travel back to the United States do worry me here.

But what worries me more, much more, would be putting my money on the Bears. Chicago ranked 31st in total offense to start Week 5, averaging just 274.8 yards per game. Starting quarterback Justin Fields had a season-high 11 completions last week in a 20-12 loss to the Giants. You read that right, 11 completions in a game are the most he’s mustered all season. The weeks prior he was 8/17, 7/11 and 8/17. The Bears may be 2-2, but they won Week 1 in a swamp and defeated an equally poor Texans team in Week 3.

The Vikings are a step up. Minnesota already beat the Packers 23-7 and the Bears lost to those same Packers 27-10. That doesn’t mean Minnesota automatically beats the Bears, it’s just that, most teams, mediocre teams, and teams playing at home, should beat the Bears. It’s not even like Chicago can hang their hat on defense as they rank just 21st in defensive yards allowed per game.

The Bears lost 31-17 and 17-9 to the Vikes last season and with Fields under center, those results don’t look to improve in Week 5.

Raiders vs Chiefs

  • Pick: Chiefs

Success against the Chiefs is rare for the Raiders. Last season they lost 48-9 and 41-14. They have just one win against Kansas City in their past nine meetings and only two wins against them in their past 15. In the past eight meetings, the Chiefs have scored at least 28 or more points.

This season KC has already put up 40 or more points twice, including hanging 41 on Tom Brady and the Bucs on MNF.

Meanwhile, the Raiders were the only remaining winless team entering Week 4. That run ended as they beat the Broncos 32-23. But great, it was the Broncos. A team that had scored 16, 16 and 11 points in the three weeks prior (and nine this week on TNF). And then against the Raiders’ 22nd-ranked defense, they scored a season-high 23.

Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs’ fifth-ranked offense should slice apart the Raiders’ defense and get us the win as part of this NFL parlay.

NFL Week 5 Teaser Odds

Matchup Pick ( Teaser Odds)
Lions vs Patriots Lions +3 (teaser +10.5)
Steelers vs Bills  Bills -14  (teaser -6.5)
Seahawks vs Saints Seahawks +5.5 (teaser +13)
TOTAL ODDS +142

NFL Week 5 Teaser Picks

This week’s NFL teaser features three teams in a 7.5-point teaser at Barstool Sportsbook. We’re getting both the Lions and Seahawks at up over ten points, plus bringing the Bills down from -14 to just -6.5 against the Steelers.

Lions vs Patriots

  • Pick: Lions (+10.5)

Both teams are dealing with key injuries heading into this one. Starting QB Mac Jones is likely out for New England, still being limited in practice this week. Backup QB Brian Hoyer sustained a head injury last week. That means we’ll likely see rookie Bailey Zappe in Week 5 again. Zappe was a respectable 10/15, 99 yards, and one touchdown in relief against the Packers last week. But now the Lions will have a week to prepare for him.

It may not matter. As Detroit’s swiss cheese defense has allowed the highest YPG allowed in the league at 444.8. They’ve allowed an average of 35.3 PPG through four weeks, roughly seven more than the next closest team (Seattle) who allow 28.8. Both of those teams played each other last week in what ended in a 48-45 Seahawks win.

Detroit was missing defensive captain Tracy Walker, as well as key offensive pieces in WR Amon-Ra St Brown and RB D’Andre Swift. Despite those losses on offense, the Lions still put up 520 yards of offense.

The Patriots aren’t as weak defensively as the Seahawks, but they still only rank 19th in YPG allowed. New England has allowed 20 or more points in three of their four games and I just don’t see Zappe producing enough offense to outduel Jared Goff and the Lions. At least not enough to blow them out in an NFL teaser.

Steelers vs Bills

  • Pick: Bills (-6.5)

The biggest spread of the week goes to the Bills favored by 14-points at home to the Steelers. Buffalo could be thrown in a parlay, but at -910 moneyline odds, that’s not really doing much. So instead we’ll use them in this Week 5 NFL teaser.

Kenny Pickett finally took over for the beleaguered Trubisky for Pittsburgh during last week’s 24-20 loss to the Jets that saw Zach Wilson coming off of injury and making his season debut. That makes it three losses in a row for the Steelers and severely puts in jeopardy Mike Tomlin’s record of never having a losing season. Pittsburgh’s lone win came in Week 1 against the Bengals. It was a great defensive performance, but also an epically poor showing from Joe Burrow and the Bengals, giving up five turnovers and committing a host of errors.

Buffalo is 3-1, with their loss coming in Miami, despite holding an edge in total yards 495-212. They’ve also played three of four on the road. Their one home game was a 41-7 thumping of the Titans. They’ll return home in Week 5 and while I don’t want to lay two touchdowns with anyone in the NFL, laying -6.5 in this NFL teaser is much more appealing.

Seahawks vs Saints

  • Pick: Seahawks  (+13)

I’ve taken the Seahawks as one of my top NFL ATS picks for Week 5 as 5.5-point underdogs in New Orleans this week. By that logic, if I think they can cover 5.5-points, then why not 13?

You may not need to add the points to Seattle for an NFL teaser, but if you’d like the extra security you can. New Orleans is coming off a game in London where they lost 28-25. They’re now 1-3 and haven’t won since Week 1, 27-26.

Meanwhile, Seattle may be porous defensively, ranking 31st, but Geno Smith and the offense are keeping them in games. They just won 48-45 in Detroit, in a wild shootout last week. Three of four Seattle games have been decided by four or fewer points and they’re 14-1 SU playing at 1:00 pm EST the past 15 times doing so when you look at NFL team trends. And … New Orleans has a host of players questionable to play on offense including Jameis Winston, Alvin Kamara, Michael Thomas, Jarvis Landry and Andrus Peat.
