Line Movement
The Chiefs have held the upper hand in recent dates with the Ravens, winning outright in each of their past four. That run includes a pair of victories in Baltimore by wide double-digit margins, capped by a 34-20 victory 3.5-point underdogs in Week 3 of last season.

Despite that recent dominance, the point spread has moved slightly in favor of the Ravens since they opened as 4-point home underdogs. That momentum has been fueled by heavy betting volume, with 83% of wagers getting laid on Baltimore. However, it is the Chiefs who have attracted 56% of the betting dollars ahead of this contest. The total has also seen some movement, dipping slightly to 54.5 since opening at 55.5.
Battered Ravens on the Rebound
The Ravens return home searching for answers after blowing an early 14-0 lead on their way to a 33-27 overtime road loss to the Las Vegas Raiders in Week 1. Baltimore regained the lead on three occasions, but failed to shut down a surprisingly productive offense, led by quarterback Derek Carr, that rallied to tie the game three times in the fourth quarter while racking up an impressive 491 total yards of offense.

The Baltimore offensive line also struggled, allowing quarterback Lamar Jackson to get sacked three times. The Raiders also forced three fumbles by Jackson, who completed just 19-of-30 passes for 235 yards and one score. Things only get tougher for the Ravens against the Chiefs, who managed to keep Browns pivot Baker Mayfield out of the end zone last weekend.

The upside for the Ravens is their track record of success on home turf. The squad closed out last season with three straight victories, allowing an average of fewer than 15 points per game over that stretch, and have won outright in four of their past five as home underdogs.
However, injuries remain a massive concern for the Ravens, who look to Sunday night’s clash with a league-high 15 players on injured reserve. Among those who are questionable for Week 2 are LT Ronnie Stanley and WR Marquise Brown, who made his first appearance of the week at practice on Friday.
In Mahomes We Trust
The Chiefs have some concerns of their own to address in the wake of their narrow Week 1 victory over Cleveland. While they managed to keep Mayfield from tossing for any scores, they struggled to contain a potent ground game that produced 153 total rushing yards and four scoring runs. Indeed, Kansas City will have to do much better to contain Jackson, who used his mobility to escape a productive Raiders’ offensive line while racking up 86 rushing yards.

However, as has been the case of late whenever these two teams meet, Kansas City’s success will largely hinge on the performance of Patrick Mahomes.
The Chiefs passer has dissected the Baltimore defense in three previous appearances, racking up nine total TD passes against just one pick while averaging over 378 passing yards per game. Considering the Ravens’ defensive struggles in Week 1, and their current injury concerns, the Chiefs are well positioned to once again dominate the Ravens.
The Picks: Chiefs -3.5 (-112) – 1 unit; OVER 54.5 (-110) – 1 unit
