Entering their Week 8 MNF game, neither the Cincinnati Bengals or Cleveland Browns are rife with injuries. However, the few injuries each team is dealing with are to significant players.

The Bengals will be without WR Ja’Marr Chase. The reigning NFL OROY is out with a hip injury. CB Eli Apple, Cincinnati best coverage DB, is doubtful with a hamstring ailment.

Cincinnati Bengals Injury Report

Even though Chase will be out an estimated 4-6 weeks, Bengals head coach Zac Taylor’s indication is that the club won’t be putting the WR on IR. The team believes the hip injury is more of a nagging issue that will clear up with rest.

Chase originally suffered a hip ailment during Cincinnati’s Week 6 loss to the Baltimore Ravens. He carried an injury designation all week in practice, but suited up and played against the Atlanta Falcons in Week 7. However, he pulled up while running a route late in the first half of that game and headed to the locker room.

The Bengals will also be missing backup WR Stanley Morgan for a second straight game due to a hamstring problem. On defense, LDT Josh Tupou (calf) is out. He was unable to practice all week.

Apple (hamstring) has ranged from limited to did not practice this week. He was beaten for a 70-yard TD in last week’s win over Atlanta and didn’t play in the second half.

Cleveland Browns Injury Report

None of Njoku, Teller and Ward were able to practice at all this season, so their injury designation as out didn’t come as a complete surprise.

Njoku sustained a high ankle sprain in last week’s loss to Baltimore. He was seen wearing a walking boot as recently as Friday.

Ward hasn’t played since suffering his concussion in Week 5 against the Los Angeles Chargers. Teller will miss his second game in a row. He was injured in the second half of Cleveland’s Week 6 loss to New England.

Surprisingly, even though he wasn’t practicing all week, WLB Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah (knee) is listing as questionable. RCB Greg Newsome (oblique) is also designated as questionable.

How Could Injuries Affect Bengals vs Browns Lines?

Chase, Tee Higgins and Tyler Boyd of the Bengals were the only trio of NFL teammates each with over 400 receiving yards through Week 7. Minus Chase, certainly, the other two will be seeing even more targets. Keep an eye on Boyd in the Bengals vs Browns NFL player props. He went for a career-high 155 yards in receptions last week against the Falcons.

With Morgan also out, the Bengals are down to four healthy receivers. They could activate WR Trenton Irwin from the practice squad for additional depth.

If Apple can’t go, rookie Cam Taylor-Britt is expected to get the start for Cincinnati at LCB. Tupou’s absence comes in another area of limited depth for the Bengals. DT DJ Reader is already on IR.

Ward has proven to be a big-play performer for the Browns against the Bengals. He’s picked off three passes in seven games agains Cincinnati, returning two for pick sixes. Of particular concern is that his backup Greedy Williams (illness) is listing as questionable.

There’s equal concern for the Browns if Owusu-Koramoah is unable to go. MLB Jacob Phillips went on IR this week after tearing a pectoral muscle against the Ravens. As well, LB Anthony Walker Jr (torn quad tendon) was placed on IR when injured in Week 3 against Pittsburgh.

Hjalte Froholdt will start at RG for the second straight week in place of Teller.
