Just when it looked like the Bengals were turning into a Super Bowl contender, they get dealt the devastating Ja’Marr Chase news. Their number one receiver is out indefinitely with a hip injury, but the good news is that it looks like he’ll avoid an IR stint.

With Chase out of the lineup, there’s a ton of opportunity for other Cincy receivers to step up. Their first test without him goes down in Cleveland on Monday Night Football, with the Bengals laying 3 points.

We’ll be targeting Tee Higgins in the Week 8 player props, as his matchup is extremely favorable, and he was already going for huge games even with Chase on the field.

MNF Prop #1: Tee Higgins Over 74.5 Receiving Yards

Higgins is fresh off 93 receiving yards versus the Falcons, which marked the third time in four games he’s reached at least that number. While it’s true Chase was significantly out-targeting him this season, Higgins had a much better reception rate.

Higgins is hauling in 70.4% of his targets, compared to only 63.5% for Chase. The former Clemson product averaged more targets than Chase in 2021, and should feast against a Browns defense that ranks 28th versus the pass per DVOA.

Also working in Higgins’ favor is Cincy’s increased pass rate. Over the past five games, the Bengals are throwing on 63.1% of their offensive snaps, which is the fifth-highest rate during that stretch.

Pick: Tee Higgins Over 75.5 Receiving Yards (-115), 1 unit

MNF Prop #2: Joe Mixon Under 65.5 Rushing Yards

The Bengals increase in pass rate has led to a 2-1 record. That, coupled with Cleveland’s atrocious pass defense, signals a red flag for Joe Mixon’s rushing prospects.

Mixon has failed to eclipse 61 yards in five of his last six games. He’s averaging just 3.3 yards per carry in 2022 and ranks 33rd among 39 qualified running backs per DVOA.

Dating back to last year, he’s failed to eclipse 65 rushing yards in 10 of his past 12 regular season matchups. Also working against him is the fact that Cincy grades out as Pro Football Focus’ 26th ranked run blocking unit.

Pick: Joe Mixon Under 65.5 Rushing Yards (-115), 1 unit

MNF Prop #3: Nick Chubb Anytime TD

Entering Week 8, the NFL leader in rushing yards and touchdowns is Nick Chubb. He’s scored at least once in five of his last six games, with two multi-TD performances mixed in there.

Chubb ranks third in the league in red zone rushing attempts, and second among RB’s in carries inside the 5-yard line.

The Bengals’ defense meanwhile, ranks below the league average in adjusted line yards and 20th in rushing defense per PFF. Chubb has scored four touchdowns against them in their last three meetings and is an excellent value at -120 to find the end zone on Monday Night Football in your Bengals vs Browns picks.

Pick: Nick Chubb Anytime TD (-120), 1 unit
