  • Larry Fitzgerald is in his 15th NFL season, all with the Arizona Cardinals
  • Fitzgerald is the subject of trade rumors as a respected veteran on a struggling team
  • Sportsbooks have released odds on whether Fitzgerald will be traded before the NFL Trade Deadline on October 30th

Could Larry Fitzgerald be on the move?

Stuck in a tie at the bottom of the NFC West, the Arizona Cardinals are 1-6. Despite employing both Fitzgerald  David Johnson, the Cards’ offense has generated the second-fewest points in the NFL.

With rookie quarterback Josh Rosen under center, and Byron Leftwich taking over as offensive coordinator, it’s time for change in the desert. Does that mean the face of the franchise could be on his way out?

Odds Larry Fitzgerald Will Be Moved at the NFL Trade Deadline

Where Will Larry Fitzgerald Be on October 31st?  Odds
Arizona Cardinals +400
New England Patriots +700
Dallas Cowboys +700
Miami Dolphins +900
Any other team -300

Rumors about Patrick Peterson’s exodus have come and gone over the past week. The talented cornerback put those to rest over the past couple of days, taking an intriguing commodity off of the market.

But now the attention turns to Fitzgerald.

The lifelong Cardinal is once again at the center of trade rumors. This isn’t new for a player and a franchise that has just two playoff appearances since 2010.

There is one intriguing twist, though. And that’s the fact that the team most-often linked to him in those rumors, likely doesn’t need him anymore.

Patriots Among Leaders to Land Fitzgerald

There has been an on-again, off-again romance between the Bill Belichick, the New England Patriots, and Larry Fitzgerald for years.

But despite the Pats having the best odds of any non-Cardinals team to land Fitz, it ain’t happening.

Josh Gordon and his impressive grasp of New England’s offense has seen to that.

It’s too bad, because no one deserves another shot in the playoffs more than Fitzgerald.

So if the Hoodie doesn’t come calling, where will Fitzgerald land?

Don’t Expect Larry Fitzgerald to be Move Before the Trade Deadline

If Larry Fitzgerald wants to play the field, then he’s earned that right. But I don’t see his future team on that list.

Fitzgerald isn’t a two-year option at this point. Teams like the Cowboys (+700) and Dolphins (+900) don’t make sense. The other thing about Fitzgerald, is that he also understands the history of the game.

That’s why the Green Bay Packers, his history with the Minnesota Vikings, or the New Orleans Saints make the most sense.

But It seems like each and every season, Fitzgerald has had to reaffirm his desire to stay with the Cardinals.

It’s tough to see that changing now. Bank on number 11 sticking it out in the desert.
