After winning a pivotal Week 16 matchup against Dallas, the Philadelphia Eagles (8-7) have opened as 4.5-point road favorites against the Giants (4-11) in the final weekend of the regular season.
If Philadelphia can take home a victory, they’ll lock up the NFC East and a spot in the playoffs. Should the Eagles lose, and the Cowboys win their Week 17 game against Washington, the division crown would belong to Dallas.

Giants Win Second Straight Game
New York is set to be a home underdog after a 41-35 overtime victory against Washington in Week 16. After losing nine straight games, the Giants have now won two straight, with a chance to make it three victories in a row at the end of this disappointing season.
Those two wins have come against Miami and Washington, two of the league’s cellar-dwellers, but for a young team with a rookie quarterback, every win can be a valuable experience.
Next to him, Saquon Barkley had a great day as well. He carried the ball 22 times, and racked up 189 yards and two scores of his own on the way to the victory.
New York has now covered the spread in 3 of their last 4 games on the way to this late-season resurgence.
Eagles Now One Win Away from Playoffs
This has been an up and down season for Philadelphia, but on Sunday, everything finally came together. The defense, which has been much-maligned all year, had one of its best performances of the season. They held Dallas to just 311 yards, which included the vaunted Cowboy run game gaining just 3.4 yards per carry.
Carson Wentz was great as well. He completed 31-of-40 passes for 319 yards and a touchdown.
The win puts Philadelphia at 8-7 entering Week 17, one game ahead of the 7-8 Cowboys. All the Eagles have to do now is defeat the Giants on Sunday.
Where Will This Line Move?
The Giants are 7-8 against the spread but haven’t been the most reliable bet this year. Coupled with the fact that the Eagles have far more motivation to win Sunday, it’s very likely that this line moves towards Philadelphia throughout the week.
That’s why being patient is the best move here. The Eagles have the motivation, but a few signs point in the other direction. The most obvious is that, while they’re 8-7 straight up, Philadelphia is just 5-9 against the spread in 2019. Within the NFC East, they are just 2-3 against the spread.
It doesn’t stop there. When favored on the road, the Eagles are just 3-5 against the spread.
As this week moves forward, the Giants could become even bigger underdogs, and the numbers say that could be a great thing for bettors.
