Now, the Philadelphia Eagles vs Chicago Bears game on Sunday will feature some cold weather. Philadelphia remains the best team in the NFL with a 12-1 record. Currently, they are 9-point road favorites vs the Bears. Read on for a Philadelphia Eagles vs Chicago Bears analysis.

The Eagles want the top seed in the NFC, while, the Bears are battling for pride, the top draft pick, or a mix of the two.

Philadephia fields a mostly healthy lineup. However, Chicago players fought an illness off during the week and may be further weakened for Sunday.

Philadelphia Eagles vs Chicago Bears gets started Sunday from Soldier Field at 1:00pm ET, in a game that can be seen live on FOX.

Philadelphia’s odds have been shifting around from 8 to 9 points. The over moved to 48.5 points and may just stay there with the expected chill in the air for Sunday.

So, the NFL Betting Trends are mixed. 61% of the money placed is for the Eagles but overall, 55% of the bets are on the Bears covering the spread and 55% on the over for Sunday.

Eagles Betting Outlook

This game becomes an NFC game where the Philadelphia Eagles again are looking out for their health. As the old saying goes, get the win and get out. Philadelphia holds a two-game lead over Dallas in the race for the NFC East and even the NFC.

With their winning streak up to four, the Eagles look to notch win number 13 on Sunday at Soldier Field.

Last week, the Eagles’ offense continued to thrive and rushed for more than 250 yards in an easy 48-22 win over the New York Giants. When Philadelphia needed to go through the air, the Eagles did with ease. Jalen Hurts ran seven times for 77 yards and a touchdown. He added 217 yards passing and two more touchdowns. Hurts now has 22 touchdowns passing and ten touchdowns rushing.

The Chicago Bears remain vulnerable against the run. Philadelphia loves to run. Chicago ranks dead last in rushing touchdowns allowed and 27th in rushing yards yielded. The Bears give up 25.6 points per game (third worst in the league). Their best defense may be the cold on Sunday. If the Eagles can cut through the chill, Chicago is again in trouble.

Jalen Hurts and the Eagles’ offensive strategy is so balanced that a big second quarter is again possible while controlling the game in the second half.

Bears Betting Outlook

At home, Chicago plays less poorly than they do on the road. While the Bears are 1-6 on the road, Chicago is 2-4 at home. The team from Soldier Field averages a mere 20.8 points per contest offensively.

Chicago’s offense looks a little like Philadelphia’s did a year or two ago. While the Eagles’ offense eventually exploded, no one is sure the same will happen in Chicago.

The Bears’ offense has some flashes with Justin Fields. However, the passing game comes in dead last in the NFL in terms of yardage. Fields and Chicago’s running game ranks tops in the league with 5.4 yards per carry. Again, that gets tempered by the defense which has gone backwards (yielding 201 points in the past six weeks).

Again, this week is problematic as it comes down to Justin Fields. Can Fields cut through the cold and slash past the Eagles’ defense? It sounds crazy but this is plausible. Yes, Chicago’s offense has been better. Could the cold and 15 mph breeze be an equalizer for the Bears on the defensive side of the ball?

Can the chill keep the game on the ground more? If it does, this favors the Bears in keeping the game close. That should have been the blueprint for New York last week but they loused this up badly.

Finally, we alluded to the Eagles covering last week and made the mistake of not placing that pick below. Instead, we believed the rain would be more intense and it was not. Our pick paid the price as Philadelphia shredded New York for 48 points by themselves.

Eagles vs Bears Prediction

This game will go one of two ways.

Either Philadelphia blows past Chicago like they did not exist or the Bears find a way to keep this game close like they have in every home game. If the spread stays at nine, Justin Fields helps our cause.

The Pick: Chicago +9 (-110) 1 unit

2022 Record: 9-4; Overall: 9-4, +4.5 units
