  • The Baltimore Ravens have won 10 games in a row since losing to the Cleveland Browns in Week 4
  • The Ravens gave up 21 points in Week 15, which was the most they’ve allowed in nine games
  • Read below for our prediction on how the point spread might move between these two AFC North rivals

The Cleveland Browns embarrassed themselves once again on Sunday, getting blown out on the road by the three-win Arizona Cardinals. In Week 16, they’ve opened up as a 9.5-point home dog to the Baltimore Ravens. Which way will this betting line move throughout the week as we approach kickoff?

Browns Secure 12th Consecutive Losing Season

The Browns season has not gone as expected but with wins in their final three games, they could have posted their first regular season with a winning record in 12 years. Instead, the Browns came out flat and unprepared at Arizona on Sunday, losing 38-24.

The Browns were hardly in the game as they trailed 14-0 early and 21-10 at the half. They had their usual dose of mistakes, including a pair of turnovers, six penalties for 55 yards and a missed field goal. Now the Browns head home to host the best team in the NFL.

Ravens Roll On Thursday Night Football

The Ravens had another impressive showing in Week 15 as they disposed of the New York Jets 42-21 on Thursday Night Football. It was Baltimore’s 10th straight win and yet another dominant performance for them. Quarterback Lamar Jackson finished the day with 212 yards passing, five touchdowns and added another 86 yards on the ground.

The Ravens played really well on both sides of the ball, edging the Jets 430-310 in yards, 23-13 in first downs and 31:38-28:22 in time of possession. The defense only gave up 21 points, but that was the most they’ve allowed in nine games.

Which Way Will The Line Move?

The Ravens opened as a 9.5-point favorite but I have a hard time seeing this number come down. I would expect it to climb to Baltimore -10, but I don’t think we’ll get any higher than that.

Remember that this is a bit of a revenge game for the Ravens as the Browns were the last team to beat them. Back in Week 4, the Browns went to Baltimore and hammered the Ravens 40-25. The Ravens haven’t lost since. Not only is the game going to be important to them in that regard, but it’s also important for playoff positioning.

For the Ravens, they hold the tiebreak with the New England Patriots, who are a game behind, so if they beat the Browns in Week 16, they can clinch the top seed in the AFC and rest everyone in Week 17.

As for the Browns, this is a team that continues to be pathetic. They couldn’t even compete with Arizona in Week 15, and most bettors are going to expect them to get pummeled in this spot. They’re playing so poorly on offense that it’s hard to see them competing in a shootout, if Baltimore can drag them into one.

Overall, outside of some sharp money at +10, I don’t see the Browns getting a lot of action this week. That means we should see the Ravens close at about -10.
