  • WR Deebo Samuel is among four San Francisco 49ers starters listed as out for the Week 8 game against the Los Angeles Rams on Sunday, October 30
  • Rams running back Cam Akers will miss a second successive game due to a personal issue
  • The San Francisco 49ers vs Los Angeles Rams inactive and injury reports are assessed in the story below

As they’re facing the Los Angeles Rams in a huge NFC West showdown, key members of the San Francisco 49ers are once again populating the injury report.

Wide receiver Deebo Samuel is among four starters – two on offense and two on defense – who are listed as out for the game.

Meanwhile, the Rams have listed just one player as out, and it has nothing to do with injury. They’ll be holding running back Cam Akers out of the lineup for the second straight game. He and Rams head coach Sean McVay are encountering what’s been termed as philosophical differences. Los Angeles is seeking to deal Akers prior to the Nov. 1 NFL trade deadline.

The NFL odds favor San Francisco in the Rams vs 49ers picks. The 49ers are 1-point away favorites.

San Francisco 49ers Injury Report

In the 49ers vs Rams public betting splits, San Francisco is getting the love in both point spread and moneyline splits. The 49ers are drawing 78% of handle and 70% of public money on the spread. The support for San Francisco in the moneyline public betting splits is at 66% of handle and 60% of bets.

San Francisco has won seven straight regular-season games from the Rams. To make it eight in a row, the 49ers will have to do so minus some key components. Four starters are out. That includes Samuel (hamstring), who shares the team lead in receptions (32) and touchdowns (three) and is second on the club with 138 rushing yards.

Fullback Kyle Juszczyk (finger) is also out. He didn’t practice all week. On defense, RDT Arik Armstead (foot) and LB Dre Greenlaw (calf) are out as well.

WR Jauan Jennings (hamstring) is listed as questionable.

Los Angeles Rams Injury Report

Akers will be missing again this week. Following a disagreement with McVay, he sat out last week’s game. Determining their fallout was irreparable, the Rams are trying to move Akers to another team.

With the NFL trade deadline looming, the Rams don’t want to play Akers and risk him suffering an injury that would make it impossible to deal him to another club. At the same time, the Rams are aware that it’s entirely feasible they won’t be able to move Akers prior to Monday’s deadline. That being the case, they aren’t ruling out the possibility of his return to the roster.

Backup WR Brandon Powell (ankle), LA’s main man on both kick and punt returns, is listed as questionable. He’s been limited this week in practice. Fellow kick returner Kyren Williams (ankle) is on IR and isn’t ready to be activated in time for Sunday’s game.

How Could Injuries Affect 49ers vs Rams Lines?

Minus Akers, you’ll certainly be wanting to give some strong consideration to playing the over in several categories on Rams RB Darrell Henderson in the 49ers vs Rams NFL player props. On the San Francisco side of the ledger, definitely look at taking similar action on 49ers WR Brandon Aiyuk and TE George Kittle with Samuel unavailable. They could also unleash the all-purpose monster that is RB Christian McCaffrey.

The San Francisco defensive line continues to be a patchwork process. With Armstead out and RDT Javon Kinlaw (knee) on IR, Kevin Givens and Hassan Ridgeway are moving into starting roles. Oren Burks will step in for Greelaw at WLB.

If Jennings is limited, that’s going to be meaning more snaps for Willie Snead IV. Ray Ray McCloud III and Danny Gray are other San Francisco wideouts figuring to be playing larger roles in the offense.

Should Powell be unable to go, LA’s depth chart is listing All-Pro WR Cooper Kupp as next man up in the Rams’ return game depth chart. Is he really someone that LA wants returning punts?
