Week 8 Passing Props – Justin Herbert Passing Touchdowns

Let’s take our weekly look down to the bottom of the passing yards allowed charts and … once again it’s still the Chargers. But that’s ok. Because their opponents this week are the Bears who are just as bad ranking 29th, giving up 257.1 YPG.

The Chargers average right about that number themsevles, with Justin Herbert and the passing game putting up 252.3 YPG which ranks eighth.

The fact that the Chargers are also poor in pass defense makes this even more appealing. With Justin Fields still out, we’ll see Tyson Bagent again this week. Bagent got the win last week but was only 21/29 for 162 yards. Either he does little again and Herbert and the Chargers hold most of the possession, throw all over Chicago and run away with the game, or Bagent steps up and also finds success against the league’s worst pass defense and this turns into a shootout.

Either way, Herbert should have a good game. While he’s just 2-4 in the W/L columns this year, he has thrown ten touchdowns to just four interceptions with multiple touchdowns in 3/6 games.

  • NFL Player Prop Picks: Justin Herbert over 1.5 passing touchdowns (-150); risk 1 unit at DraftKings

Week 8 Rushing Props – Gus Edwards Rushing Yards

This week’s rushing yardage prop of 59.5 yards for Gus Edwards is a total he went over last week when he finished with 63 yards. But overall he’s only gone over 59.5 yards twice in seven games.

This could be the week for the third though against a Cardinals team that ranks 25th in rushing yards allowed (130.7) and 22nd in yards per carry (4.4).

Last week Kenneth Walker rushed for 105 yards against the Cards and the week before Kyren Williams had 158. Prior to that Joe Mixon had 81, Christian McCaffrey 106 and Tony Pollard 122.

  • NFL Player Prop Picks: Gus Edwards over 59.5 rushing yards (-115); risk 1 unit at DraftKings

Week 8 Rushing Props – Isiah Pacheco Rushing & Receiving Yards

The Chiefs only put up 19 points versus Denver two weeks ago in a game that featured high winds, but Isiah Pacheco still combined for 98 yards (62 rushing and 36 receiving).

The Broncos have done a terrible job at defending against the running backs. The 167.3 yards they give up on average is the highest in the league. The 1,005 total rushing yards allowed is also a league-high. That ineptitude carries over to defending running back passes as well as the 47 receptions and 385 receiving yards they’ve allowed to the position are also league worsts.

On the year Pacheco has combined in the rushing and receiving prop markets for 60, 98, 64, 158, 78, 70 and 54 yards, his lowest total, way back in Week 1. While he doesn’t always hit this total, playing the Broncos could see him get close to 100 and over 83.5.

  • NFL Player Prop Picks: Isiah Pacheco over 83.5 rushing & receiving yards (-120); risk 1 unit at DraftKings

Week 8 Receiving Props – Keenan Allen Receiving Yards

Keenan Allen only caught 4/9 passes for 55 yards last week but that came against a Chiefs’ defense that gives up the seventh-fewest yards per game and the sixth-fewest passing yards per game.

The Bears are 29th in passing defense and they have several injuries in the secondary to worry about. Both starting safeties Jaquan Brisker and Eddie Jackson are questionable, and so too is backup CB Terell Smith.

Allen has finished with six or more catches and 76 or more yards in 4/6 games this season and if the Chargers win, he’ll surely be heavily involved on Sunday.

  • NFL Player Prop Picks: Keenan Allen over 82.5 receiving yards (-115); risk 1 unit at DraftKings

Week 8 Receiving Props – George Pickens Receiving Yards

The Week 8 matchup between the Jaguars and Steelers has the sneaky potential to be a fun one. Neither team is great at defending the pass with Pittsburgh ranked 25th in passing yards allowed per game and Jacksonville even worse at 31st.

The Jags just let Derek Carr throw for 301 yards, though most were short passes to Alvin Kamara who had 12 catches for 91 yards as the Saints leading receiver last game despite being a running back.

Kenny Pickett is not exactly hucking the ball around long-range, but he does have either George Pickens or Diontae Johnson to look to deep.

Pickens leads the teams in targets (48), catches (27), yards (500) and touchdowns (2). Pickens is heating up as well in recent games going 5/8 for 107 yards and 6/10 for 130 yards in each of this past two games. He now has three games over 100 yards this season and in four of his past five games he’s finished with 75 yards or more receiving.

  • NFL Player Prop Picks: George Pickens over 55.5 receiving yards (-115); risk 1 unit at DraftKings

Week 8 Receiving Props – Christian Kirk Receiving Yards

In a similar vein to the stats we’ve mentioned above about both the Jags and Steelers having poor passing defenses, we’ll target a player on the other team between these two as well.

Christian Kirk was a perfect 6/6 for 90 yards and 1 TD last week. Overall, he’s finished with 50+ receiving yards in five of his past six games and the one game where he didn’t, he had 49.

  • NFL Player Prop Picks: Christian Kirk 50+ receiving yards (-155); risk 1 unit at DraftKings

Week 8 Touchdown Props – Travis Kelce Anytime Touchdown

Let’s break down our top touchdown prop bets for Week 8 here. And to do so, we have what looks like a perfect matchup for Travis Kelce as he’ll be going up against the team, Denver, that has given up the most receptions (42) and receiving yards (486) to opposing tight ends.

Kelce didn’t find the endzone in the earlier meeting between these teams, but he did catch a perfect 9/9 passes for 124 yards.

Last week he was 12/13 for 179 yards and a score, and he now how touchdowns in four of six games overall.

  • NFL Player Prop Picks: Travis Kelce anytime touchdown (-145); risk 1 unit at DraftKings
