Chicago Blackhawks Betting Analysis
There’s no other way to slice it – the Chicago Blackhawks are having a miserable season. They are the worst team in the West, and they’re up against a sizzling squad, though the Oilers lost to league-worst Blue Jackets last contest.
Amazingly though, the Blackhawks have had a small renaissance in their last ten outings, where they’ve won seven of them. In five of those victories, they’ve scored at least four goals. That’s a rarity for them on the campaign, as they’re tied for dead last in goals per game. They also struggle keeping the puck out of their net, as the Hawks have surrendered the seventh most goals per outing.

Recent callup Jaxson Stauber, who is their fourth string goalie, has won his first two NHL starts, giving up just four markers. He’s a candidate to play again in this one to ride the hot hand, coming off a 5-1 victory. How’s this for a wild stat? Chicago is 3-14 in their last 17 following a five (or more) goal output their previous time hitting the ice.
Edmonton Oilers Betting Analysis
The Edmonton Oilers were flirting with being outside of a playoff position, but they’ve pulled their socks up to go 6-0-1 in their last seven, and have points in nine of ten affairs (7-1-2). They surprisingly fell to Columbus in overtime on Wednesday, where they played down to their competition, which potentially could happen again.
They’ve been lighting the lamp at will (third best in the NHL), and free-agent signee Jack Campbell has finally turned the corner. He was miserable the first three months (.876 save %, 3.90 GAA).

He hasn’t competed in the latest two Oilers games, but Campbell has won five straight. His numbers are far better in January at .916 save % and 2.15 GAA (6-1-0 record). He might not suit up, which would benefit Chicago as Stuart Skinner has been pulled twice in five games this month.
The over is set at 6.5 goals for this one. Our model has the game going the home squads way, by a count of 4.08-3.36. Edmonton has won their last five against the West. Despite the defeat against the Blue Jackets, Edmonton has taken twelve of 14 against teams with a winning percentage below .400.

There should be a lot of goals scored in this one, with four of the last five meetings resulting in the over goal total hitting. The over has been achieved in five of the last seven Oilers games on two or more days rest.
Blackhawks vs Oilers Pick
This recent run of strong play by Chicago has to end soon. Edmonton got stunned by an awful Blue Jackets team, so they’re less likely to overlook a pesky Hawks squad in this contest. However, the -410 moneyline value is atrocious to wager Edmonton straight up. Especially with both these teams splitting their last eight battles.
Blackhawks vs Oilers Same-Game Parlay Picks
Pick | Odds |
---|---|
Chicago Blackhawks Puckline | -130 |
Over 6.5 Goals | -125 |
Connor McDavid Anytime Goal Scorer | -160 |
PARLAY ODDS | Â +450 |
With the Hawks playing rather well of late, them keeping the game in hand and not losing by three or more is very attainable. Still, it’s hard to go against the Oilers straight up. Goals should be a plenty and Connor McDavid is added to this parlay to give it some juice – in two games against Chicago this season, he’s put up four goals.
Pick: Chicago Blackhawks Puckline (-130), Over 6.5 Goals (-125)
