  • Read below for the Blues vs Bruins odds, picks and predictions

It’s a jam-packed Tuesday night in the NHL with 14 games on the schedule, including the Boston Bruins hosting the St. Louis Blues. The faceoff is scheduled for 7pm ET from TD Garden on Tuesday, April 12th.

Although the Bruins do have injury concerns to a couple of key players, they’ve still been made  -150 home favorites against the Blues on the moneyline. They’re hoping to get some healthy bodies back in time for the matchup with St. Louis.

Let’s take a more in depth look at the Blues vs Bruins odds and offer you our best NHL pick for this game.

Blues vs Bruins Odds

Game Time Team Moneyline Spread Total
Tuesday, April 12th St. Louis Blues +123 +1.5 (-200) O 6 (-109)
7pm ET Boston Bruins -150 -1.5 (+165) U 6 (-112)

Odds as of April 11th at Barstool Sportsbook

The Blues haven’t lost in regulation in April, but that didn’t stop the oddsmakers from making them +123 moneyline underdogs in Boston. That gives them an implied win probability of 44.84% in this contest.

St. Louis has scored four or more goals in all six of their April games. The over/under in this one sits at six goals.

Blues’ Betting Value Against vs Spread

This might come as a bit of a surprise, but the Blues have the best return on investment of any team in the league against the spread with an ROI of 25.67%. They’re 16-6 as an underdog on the puck line, for a cover rate of 72.7%.

They’re also streaking coming into this matchup with victories in five straight games as they look to seize control of second place in the Central Division and home ice advantage in the first round of the playoffs.

They’ve gone over the total in seven of their last 10 game,s bolstered by one of the most balanced scoring attacks in the NHL. The Blues have seven players with 20 or more goals this season and could finish the season with nine players hitting that mark with Robert Thomas sitting on 18 goals and Ryan O’Reilly checking in with 17.

They’ve averaged 4.75 goals per game over their last eight contests and although they’re nowhere near the leading contenders in the Stanley Cup odds,  it’s that kind of balance that helped them to a surprising championship just three years ago.

Bruins’ Betting Outlook

Considering the key injuries the Bruins are dealing with, Boston has been made a bigger favorite than I expected with moneyline odds of -150, implying a win probability of 60%.

It’ll be interesting to see if the status of David Pastrnak and Hampus Lindholm sways public betting and causes that number to come down if either or both don’t play against St. Louis. Pastrnak, a perennial challenger in the Rocket Richard odds, has missed the last three games with an upper body injury.

Without him, Boston has really struggled on the power play, going 0-for-16 in their last four games. Lindholm has missed the last two games with a lower body injury, although coach Bruce Cassidy indicated both are nearing a return to the lineup.

This will be the first meeting between these two sides in over 29 months.

Blues vs Bruins Pick & Prediction

While the Blues have been seemingly scoring at will this month, the Bruins will likely try and clamp things down on home ice, especially if they are missing Pastrnak once again. With a team-leading 38 goals, his absence creates a big hole in the Bruins’ offense.

The over is 6-0 in the Blues last six road games and 4-0 in Boston’s last four home games, so the trends are pointing to a total over six goals in this one.

The safest play in the Tuesday NHL odds for this game is to bet the Blues on the puck line at -200. While the return on investment isn’t great, they have been stellar as underdogs this season and the value lies in the likelihood that they will not lose this game by two goals or more.

Pick: St. Louis Blues Puck Line +1.5 (-200)
