  • NASCAR gives moms a gift they can love. They head to Darlington for the Goodyear 400 set to run on Sunday, May 14th, 2023
  • The contending favorites include Joey Logano, Kevin Harvick, Denny Hamlin, and Kyle Larson
  • Below are the Goodyear 400 from Darlington predictions, picks, and betting odds ahead of Sunday afternoon’s race

NASCAR slugs its way into Darlington, South Carolina, for the thirteenth race of the 2023 season. Darlington Raceway is a 1.366-mile high-wear track with a 25 degree banking in turns 1 and 2 then 23 in turns 3 and 4. The race distance totals 400 miles (293 laps). Which way will this track tilt on Sunday?

This weekend’s race is a week after the Sunday AdventHealth 400 where Denny Hamlin bumped his way around a loose Kyle Larson to gain a huge win. Larson was on the verge of another victory when the unfortunate happened again. In a twist, Hamlin was the fast car this time.

The table below lists the complete slate of NASCAR Cup Series odds for the Goodyear 400 from Darlington (win, podium finish, and top-five finish). Under the table, find the Kansas predictions and best bets for this weekend’s NASCAR action.

Kyle Larson enters this race yet again as a +500 favorite. However, five other contenders come in at +900 or shorter. Last week’s race finished on Monday because of rain. Hopefully, that does not happen this weekend. There is a chance of rain.

Kyle Larson Was So Close That Time

Wow, the Hendrick Motorsports Racing driver got unlucky at Kansas. Now, Larson was in position this time. Then his car began to slow and got a little loose. Eventually, Denny Hamlin, who was tops in total speed, passed him but tapped him along the way. Larson was able to hold the car but lost the race. Even at Darlington, Larson is one to watch as he led 30 laps last year before his engine blew. Previously, the No. 5 car had three consecutive runner-up results.

Yes, the Caesars Sportsbook come in with their differences. For one, Kyle Larson is +750, but Denny Hamlin rumbles in at +550. Only four drivers come in at +850 or shorter with Joey Logano lurking at +1200.

Joey Logano Feels The Need For Speed

While Totoya should be considered somewhat of a favorite., should Joey Logano get some praise too? What do we mean? He is a speed merchant at Darlington. As a result, NASCAR Cup Series odds still rides with Chevy (first four drivers now) but again Logano always has a shot. He is a two-time champion after all and dominated Darlington last year. At +1200, that is an interesting number for a driver who swept the pole, laps led, and victory.

Correlation is unique but at high-wear tracks, Logano is a top five masterclass.

Practice begins Saturday morning with a 45-minute session. Saturday qualifying begins at 11:20 am ET. Expect hot weekend conditions!

Goodyear 400 from Darlington Predictions & Picks

So, Saturday looks great for practice and qualifying. Sunday evening may be a bit more questionable.

Qualifying will be fun. Could Logano snag the pole again? Warm temperatures around 90 will be on the docket.

Can Kyle Larson finally tame Darlington? Does Denny Hamlin get his comeuppance? Will a punch get thrown again?

Again, do keep an eye on the weather. It gets very changeable this time of year. It may be worth to keep an eye on Joey Logano. If one can find good numbers on taking Kevin Harvick over Ryan Blaney, do it!

Here are our best bets:

  • Top Pick: Joey Logano to Win (+1200)
  • Other Contenders: Kyle Larson (+500), Martin Truex Jr. (+700), Denny Hamlin. (+600), William Byron (+850)
  • Longshots:  Brad Keselowski (+3500), Bubba Wallace (+4000), Josh Berry (+6500)
