  • Serie A’s top two clash on Sunday in Milan
  • Inter lead Juve by two points after a 6-0-0 start
  • Sportsbooks favor Inter – read below to find our pick to win

It’s first versus second in Serie A on Sunday as leaders Inter Milan entertain the reigning champions Juventus at the San Siro (kick-off 2:45 PM ET). It’s been a 6-0-0 start for Inter but now comes their biggest test of the season so far. They start the game as narrow favorites for the win, +160  compared to Juve’s +178.

Juve still remains favorite to win the Scudetto but Sunday will be a good early test of Inter’s genuine title credentials, especially after they suffered their first defeat of the season at the  Camp Nou on Wednesday in the Champions League.

A Juve win on Sunday would take them above Inter – their lead at the top is two points – and they are in form as while Inter were losing in Barcelona, they were cruising past Bayer Leverkusen with a very comfortable 3-0 win.

Inter boss Antonio Conte will be without a couple of big names, striker Romelu Lukaku missing out in Barca with a knee injury and unlikely to feature on Sunday, and also Manchester United loanee Alexis Sanchez will be missing due to suspension after being sent off against Sampdoria last weekend. Both will be missed.

Juve manager Maurizio Sarri is not without problems of his own, and has three of his first-choice defenders struggling for fitness, with Mattia De Sciglio, Danilo and Giorgio Chiellini all carrying knocks; Chiellini unlikely to be available until next March.

On the plus side for Sarri, he may have Brazilian winger Douglas Costa available for the first time since limping off in the Juve’s 0-0  draw at Fiorentina in mid-September.

The last time these two teams met in the San Siro – near the end of last season – it ended 1-1 with Cristiano Ronaldo equalising for Juve after Radja Nainggolan’s had given Inter an early lead with a 25-yard volley.

This one is expected to be equally tight with neither team wanting to concede ground to the other and both basing their good starts to season on a sound defense.

As an attacking force, this hasn’t been vintage Juve – even with Ronaldo leading their line – but what will have pleased Sarri is that his defense, without Chiellini, is starting to look solid again.

Summer signing from Ajax, Matthijs de Ligt, has taken a few games to settle but as a unit the Juve back-four now looks organised, so even when not firing on all cylinders Juve have been capable of finding ways to win.

Inter’s defense has been the cornerstone of their success so far and for all the summer spending on attacking talent, it’s a defense that has conceded just two goals that’s been key.

So, it will be a tight one, probably a low-scoring one, and for that reason, for me, the value is very much with the draw.

My pick: Inter and Juve to draw (+205)
