Valencia vs Real Betis Prediction

It’s been a disappointing season for Valencia who kick off this one in their famous Mestalla Stadium down in tenth place.  Their outside chance of scraping into the European places have been blown apart in recent weeks after a poor run of form that has seen them go six games without a win.

Betis is in a rather better place in terms of league position but they too are struggling when it comes to recent form. They currently occupy fifth spot, which would be good enough for a place in next season’s Europa League, but come into this game off the back of a win-less four-game streak.

The key to the outcome here may well be Los Beticos’ incentive for a win. If they can get the three points they will assure themselves a place in next season’s Europa Conference League and put themselves in pole position for the Europa League place, so against a Valencia team left with little to play for, the value bet here is the away win.

Picks: Real Betis to win (+115)

Granada CF vs Athletico Bilbao Prediction

For Granada, the great escape from relegation looks very much on following their emphatic 6-2 hammering of Mallorca at the weekend. The win took them above the Mallorcans in the table and crucially out of the relegation zone. Six points from their remaining three games should be enough for survival.

Bilbao’s sights are very much on the other end of the table where a win could put them within touching distance of the Europa Conference League spot. Two wins out of their last three have put the Lions in with a chance but with a four-point gap to close they are left with little room for error over their last three games.

These two played out a 2-2 draw earlier in the season and this will again be tight and nervy, so it could end being one of those games where the outcome suits neither team.  For me, the value here is with the draw

Pick: Granada and Athletic Bilbao to draw (+240)

Elche vs Atletico Madrid Prediction

For Elche, most of the hard work has already been done. Despite winning just two of their last five, Los Franjiverdes have already accrued enough points to ensure they will be playing in La Liga next season, and so will come into this game with the pressure off – often the outcome is a team that plays with freedom and expression.

Atleti, meanwhile, have all but clinched Champions League soccer again for next season, thanks to a thrilling 1-0 win in last weekend’s Madrid derby. A win over Elche would be enough to confirm it, and so Diego Simeone’s men will be looking to get the job done at the first time of asking.

With their season effectively over, it’s hard to see Elche putting up too much resistance here, so the value looks to be with predicting the size of the Atleti win. A solid 2-0 at +800 looks like a decent bet.

Pick: Atletico Madrid to win 2-0 (+800)
