- Manchester City once again have the shortest odds to win the Premier League title.
- Can leaders Liverpool hold onto top spot?
- Will any of the current bottom three avoid relegation?
After back-to back draws, Liverpool’s lead over Manchester City atop the Premier League standings has been reduced to just three points. Now listed as favorites, can Man City retake the lead and win the EPL title?
With average odds of -115, Man City are now slight favorites over Liverpool who own average odds of +105. Follow the Premier League title and relegation odds as we track each team all season long.
2019 English Premier League Championship Odds
Team | 2019 English Premier League Championship Odds (02/05/19) |
---|---|
Manchester City | -110 |
Liverpool | +100 |
Tottenham Hotspur | +1400 |
Manchester United | +25000 |
Chelsea | +30000 |
Arsenal | +75000 |
Title contenders Liverpool at one point had a chance to extend their lead over Man City to seven points, but have instead allowed City to close the gap.
Betting this title race may come down to what (if any) position you currently hold on Liverpool or City. If you’d bet City last month at plus-money, now may be the time to take some action on first place Liverpool, now back to offering near even-money.

With only one loss I still believe Liverpool will see this out. However, their recent dip in play could be a sign of a cold spell which would really tighten things up. Over the next month each team will play three games in the league and each will play one team inside the top five.
I have to give City the advantage there as their toughest match in February will come at home to a struggling Chelsea. Liverpool, on the other hand, will travel to the red-hot Manchester United.
PEP 💬 You cannot (escape football and have a day off). It’s not allowed. You have to have your attention because it’s in a period when there are knockout games. It’s normal and a real test and challenge.

From that standpoint, this may be the best time to find value on a back-to-back title from the Cityzens.
The one wild card who technically still has a chance to shake up the title race is Tottenham. Spurs have just as many wins (19) as both Liverpool and City, and are only five points back of the summit.

Despite suffering a slew a key injuries, Spurs have remained right in the thick of the title race with Son leading the charge.

I can’t argue that their odds of +1400 aren’t tempting, but I simply can’t get past their history of coming up short. With Harry Kane and Dele Alli not returning until possibly March, surely injuries will soon catch up to them.
On the other side of the table there’s still plenty of time for several teams to find themselves in the relegation zone. Are the final three already set in stone though?
The average odds seem to say so, with each of Huddersfield (-15000), Fulham (-475), and Cardiff (-200) being heavily favored to suffer the drop.

Team | 2019 English Premier League Relegation Odds (02/05/19) |
---|---|
Huddersfield | -10000 |
Fulham | -450 |

Newcastle | +600 |
Southampton | +1000 |
Brighton | +1600 |
Crystal Palace | +1600 |
Bournemouth | +20000 |
In the case of Huddersfield and Fulham all hope likely seems lost. Neither have done almost anything right this season.
Huddersfield have scored a whole 13 goals in 25 matches, while Fulham have conceded an astonishing 55 times. The two are 13 and seven points adrift of 17th place Burnley.

Cardiff haven’t fared much better but gave themselves a lifeline with an emotional 2-0 home win over Bournemouth this weekend.
The circumstances stretched far past the pitch as the club honored new signing Emiliano Sala. Sala never played a match for the club as his plane went down in the English Channel while traveling from Nantes, France on the way to Wales.

Given Cardiff are only two points back from Burnley, Southampton, and Newcastle, you can certainly find value on betting any one of these three to drop. However each have recently turned their seasons around.

Burnley and Southampton are both unbeaten in five and rank as the fifth and sixth most in-form sides. Newcastle have won two of three, which included a 2-1 win over Man City.
Bet the chalk and take Cardiff -200 to be playing in the Championship division next season.
