It’s coming down to the wire in the Liga MX Clausura semifinals, with a spot in the finals on the line. Tigres will lock horns with Atlas on Saturday evening at 9pm ET on home soil, but they face an uphill battle after losing 3-0 in the first leg.
The hosts beat Cruz Azul in the quarterfinals to progress to the last four, while Atlas took down Guadalajara 3-2 on aggregate.

Tigres | -148 |
Atlas | +375 |

Tigres is a clear -148 favorite for the second leg, losing only twice in the Clausura at the Estadio Universitario. However, they’re at a long +500 to go through to the final after such a dismal reverse fixture earlier in the week. Atlas on the other hand sits at -1000 odds to advance.
Over/Under & Spread
Only one of Tigres’ last six games hit the over in goals. However, Atlas has cashed in the over in two of their previous three outings. Given the recent trends and Tigres looking to climb back from a huge deficit, the visitors could play defensive here, which means the under 2.5 goals at -141 odds could hold value.
Tigres vs Atlas Prediction
Despite finishing just above Atlas in the Clausura table in second place, Tigres looked very poor on Wednesday. The two previous clashes between these sides ended in 1-1 draws, but it was a much different story this time around. Miguel Herrera’s men were toothless in the final third, registering just two shots on target. Defensively, Tigres showed far too much vulnerability, with their opponents ripping them apart.
Andres Pierre Gignac had little impact in the first leg and he will absolutely need to step up and produce in the final third if his side is going to have any chance at pulling off the unthinkable. His 11 goals were second-best in the Clausura.
Tigres vs Atlas Key Stats
10-3-4 | Record in Clausura | 7-6-4 |
11.6 | Average Shots | 8.0 |
5.2 | Average Shots on Target | 3.2 |
1.6 | Average Goals | 1.2 |
Atlas essentially have one foot in the final already and would need to collapse entirely to be eliminated here after a fantastic performance mid-week at home. Diego Cocca’s squad applied constant pressure on Tigres and found their first breakthrough just before the halftime whistle courtesy of a Julio Furch spot-kick that he clinically put away.
Just 20 minutes later, Luis Reyes unleashed a beautiful strike from outside the box to give Atlas a comfortable two-goal cushion. Julian Quinones added an insurance goal in the 90th minute with another breathtaking hit from long range. The visitors are also unbeaten in six games, which is a fantastic sign heading into Saturday’s encounter.

Tigres vs Atlas Pick
Tigres is in very poor form at the moment, tasting defeat in four of their last six matches. Atlas is riding a high and will be feeling extremely confident they can put this tie far out of reach on Saturday. There is huge value in the visitors’ moneyline.
