Germany finished as the country with the most goals at the 2007 and 2015 WWC.
Plenty of USA Firepower
Alex Morgan only scored once during the 2015 WWC but has tallied 101 goals for the Americans in international play in 163 games.
Midfielder Megan Rapinoe is a veteran of international play at the age of 33. She scored twice in the 2015 WWC. Rapinoe has registered 44 goals in 150 games for the US.
We haven’t even mentioned Carli Lloyd. At 36, she’s netted 107 goals for the Americans. Lloyd shared the goal-scoring lead at the 2015 WWC, scoring six times.
One-Hit Wonders
There are some wonderful goal scorers in the tournament who simply don’t have the support of scoring depth to allow their countries to top the goals chart.
Canada’s Christine Sinclair has scored 180 times for Canada. She’s four shy of American Abby Wambach’s international world record. Brazil’s Marta is a six-time FIFA World Player of the Year and holds the Women’s World Cup record with 15 goals.

Australia could be a sleeper in terms of scoring. Sam Kerr has 31 goals for the Aussies and was fifth in the women’s Ballon d’Or race in 2018.
Will Home Cooking Help France?
The French won the men’s World Cup on home soil last year and will be looking to turn the double.
With a remarkable four trebles in the last seven years, Eugénie Le Sommer is European football royalty 👑

France has two capable scorers in Eugénie Le Sommer, who’s tallied 74 international goals. Gaëtane Thiney has netted 55 goals for her country.
It’s The Germans
There’s an old joke about the World Cup that it’s held every four years and Germany wins. The joke about the WWC could be that it’s held every four years and Germany scores the most goals.
The Germans have undergone a facelift since the 2015 World Cup and only Sara Däbritz is back among the four players who scored multiple goals in that tournament. But don’t doubt Germany.
They’ll be among the top contenders to win it all. They potted a tournament-leading 20 goals in 2015 and topped the 2007 event with 21 goals. In their group, Spain (3) and China (4) combined to surrender seven goals at the 2015 WWC. South Africa is a first-time qualifier. In 2015, Germany pounded first-time qualifiers Ivory Coast 10-0.
At +450, you can’t turn down a wager on the Germans.
