Kerber Earns Her Spot in the Quarterfinals
The former World No. 1 has shown that she can still play with the best of them here in Cincinnati. Kerber has knocked off Maria Sakkari, fourth seed Elina Svitolina, and most recently Jelena Ostapenko.
In her opening match, she took down Sakkari in straight sets. She then needed to find away to comeback to upset Svitolina in the Round of 32, and managed to come back again from a set down against Ostapenko, to win 4-6, 6-2, 7-5.
Angelique Kerber is into the #CincyTennis quarterfinals with a tough 46 62 75 comeback over Jelena Ostapenko.

Kerber has now won 13 of her last 14 matches, and continues to dominate. Her experience has made her trouble for her previous opponents, but Kvitova will be bringing about the same amount of experience and success to the court.
Kvitova Continues to Dominate
The 11th seed dominated her Round of 16 match, defeating Ons Jabeur 6-1, 6-2 in just over an hour. The 31 year-old has yet to drop a set this tournament, and will look to earn a spot in the semifinals when she takes on Kerber.

Kvitova has seemed to find a rhythm in her game over the past couple of matches. In her match against Jabeur she managed to land 96 percent of her first serves, and followed it up with a 68 win percentage on her first serves.
The 31-year old will be looking to continue her momentum into her quarterfinal match. She’s been playing really great tennis as of late, but as we’ve seen in the past, Kerber can give her trouble.
Head-to-Head
These two players are no strangers to each other, having gone head-to-head a total of 15 times in the past. Their first singles meeting came way back in 2012, with their most recent meeting happening this year.
Kerber and Kvitova have actually played each other twice this year already and split the wins 1-1. But Kvitova currently leads their head-to-head by a win, with a 8-7 record.

Best Bet
Kvitova has struggled against Kerber in the past, and vice versa, but both players have been playing well this week. Kvitova has gone on to win 13 of her last 14 matches, and could provide a problem for Kvitova.
Both players have a similar style of play, which will make for an interesting match between the two.
This will honestly be a great match between these two players. Given their history, expect a close match. But just given the way Kvitova has been playing, she should be the one who ends up in the semifinals.
Best Bet: Kvitova 2-0 (+150)
