Alejandro Davidovich Fokina vs [10] Taylor Fritz Prediction

This will be the second meeting on tour between these two, with Davidovich Fokina holding a 1-0 head-to-head record edge. Their one and only meeting came back in 2019 on clay.

The 22-year old Spaniard has had eyes on him since he upset tournament favorite and No. 1 in the world, Novak Djokovic in the second round. He’s been playing at an extremely high level that has caused conversation in the tennis world. On route to the quarterfinals Davidovich Fokina has only managed to drop one set, and that was against Djokovic.

Now, his quarterfinal opponent, 24-year old Fritz, has been tested since day one at this tournament. He saw his first two matches go three sets, including a couple of necessary tiebreakers.

Both have been playing great tennis as of late, but given how Davidovich Fokina has been playing, it’s tough to think about betting against him. But the smartest bet might be to just take that it will go three sets.

Best Bet: Over 2.5 sets (+112)

Grigor Dimitrov vs [11] Hubert Hurkacz Prediction

Once again, this will be the second meeting between these two players, expect their one and only meeting came just last year. Dimitrov holds the head-to-head record at 1-0.

30-year old Dimitrov has had a fairly good tournament so far. He entered on a less than ideal note, having been knocked out in the first round of the Miami Open. But in his third round match, he upset fourth seed Casper Ruud 6-3, 7-5, to earn his spot in the quarters.

11th seed Hurkacz has also had a fairly strong showing so far. The Pole had his first match of the tournament cancelled, and has managed to just drop one set on route to the quarters.

Hurkacz is the favorite to win this match, but Dimitrov won’t be an easy task. Both players have strong serves and are able to move around the court fairly well. But once again, this match could go either way, so the smart best might be to take the distance.

Best Bet: Over 2.5 sets (+114)

[5] Jannik Sinner vs [2] Alexander Zverev Prediction

This might be the match of the day as Sinner and Zverev face off for the fourth time in their careers. The first meeting between these two came back in 2020, with their most recent match coming at the 2021 US Open. Zverev leads the head-to-head record at 2-1.

20-year old Sinner has had a pretty good 2022 so far, as he looks to take his game to the next level. The Italian has started to make more and more waves with his playing, and has managed a few quarterfinal appearances this year. At the Monte-Carlo Masters. he’s battled through ever match, including a three-set win over fifth seed Andrey Rublev to earn his spot in the quarterfinals.

Many have expected a little more from Zverev this year. Unfortunately, he hasn’t been able to completely find his game it seems. He’s lacked a bit of consistency. But he hasn’t shied away, he continues to battle through, and there’s been times he’s found his rhythm.

Now, Zverev is the favorite to win this match, with -220 odds compared to Sinner’s +182. But Sinner will make it tough on the German. Even since they’ve last seen each other last year in New York, it seems that Sinner has grown more and more confident.

Once again, perhaps look beyond who’s just winning the match, and look to see how far it will go.

Best Bet: Over 2.5 sets (+122)
