The Favorite

After a tough start to the season at the ATP Cup, Tsitsipas had an impressive run at the Australian Open, recording a semifinal appearance, and has managed to continue the success at the Rotterdam Open.

The 23-year old is coming off a three set win over Jiri Lehecka in the semifinals earlier today. After dropping the first set of the match, Tsitsipas found a way to take the next two and secure the win, winning 4-6, 6-4, 6-2 in just under two hours.

After losing that first set, Tsitsipas had to find a way to win. He once again had a strong serve going, recording five aces and managed to win 80 percent of points when landing his first serve.

He’ll now go up against Auger-Aliassime, as he looks to win his first ATP 500 event.

Auger-Aliassime Looking for First ATP Tour Title

The 21-year old Canadian is still looking for his first ATP Tour title, but he became one step closer when he booked his spot in the finals after defeating defending champion Andrey Rublev 6(5)-7, 6-4, 6-2.

Like his final opponent, Auger-Aliassime saw himself down a set quick when he figured out a way to record the win. In his semifinal match against Rublev, Auger-Aliassime saved all seven breaks he faced over the three sets, while recording six aces.

The Canadian’s serve has once again been his weapon all tournament, recording a total of 31 aces over the course of four matches

The second seed will now go up against top seed Tsitsipas in the final with the goal of lifting an ATP tour title for the first time.

This match could be a serving masterclass for audiences all around the world. Two of the strongest, toughest serves will go up against each other when Tsitsipas and Auger-Aliassime take the court tomorrow.

Both players have played exceptionally well this tournament. The Canadian has had a strong start to the year, leading Canada to the ATP Cup, and a quarterfinal appearance at the Australian Open. His strong momentum has continue into Rotterdam, and he has a strong chance of winning here.
