Angelique Kerber vs Leylah Fernandez Prediction

As no surprise, this will be the first meeting between these two players.

2016 US Open champion Kerber enters the match after coming back from a set down against American Sloane Stephens. She’s only managed to lose a total of two sets over her three matches in New York.

18-year old Fernandez is coming off, what is arguably her biggest win in her career so far, defeating Naomi Osaka in three sets. The Canadian came back from a set and break down to beat Osaka 5-7, 7-6(2), 6-4.

This match will be a example of how experience could play a key part in a match. Kerber has years of experience over Fernandez, but Fernandez is playing the best tennis of her career.

There are countless examples of young players coming off huge wins, and unable to continue their momentum into their next match, and are all over the place. We obviously don’t know if this will be the case with Fernandez, but Kerber will most likely be able to come in showcase her experience.

For those reason, Kerber seems to have the edge here, but it’s possible Fernandez steals a set.

Best Bet: Ov 2.5 sets (+128)

Barbora Krejcikova vs Garbine Muguruza Prediction

This will be the third meeting between these two players. The two previous matches between these two came earlier this year. Their head-to-head record sits at 1-1, with Krejcikova capturing the win their last meeting in three sets.

Krejcikova is playing in her first US Open singles main draw, and the 25-year old has yet to drop a set over the past three rounds. Over her three previous meetings she has only lost her serve twice.

Muguruza eased through the past two matches without having dropped a set, but found herself challenged in her third round match against Victoria Azarenka. She was able to hold on to beat Azarenka 6-4, 3-6, 6-2.

Krejcikova and Muguruza are set to take the court at 9 pm ET on Sunday, and it’s sure to be a tight match. Muguruza will be looking to avenge her recent loss to Krejcikova earlier this year in Cincinnati, and her power and serve’s should allow her to move onto the next round.

Best Bet: Muguruza (+114)

Elina Svitolina vs Simona Halep Prediction

Svitolina and Halep are no strangers to one another, as they go head-to-head for the 10th time in their career on Sunday during the fourth round of the US Open. Svitolina currently holds the head-to-head edge with a 5-4 lead.

This most recent meeting came in the first round of the 2019 WTA Finals where Svitolina won in straight sets.

If there’s one thing most people could agree on, is that this match is most likely to go the distance given the history and style of play of both players. Both Svitolina and Halep are very quick on the court, and move around fast. Don’t expect either serve to be the biggest factor in this match, it’ll most likely be their groundstrokes and variety in play.

Best Bet: Ov 2.5 sets (+114)
