In what should be the farewell ride for Drew Brees, the New Orleans Saints are all-in on winning a Super Bowl this season. The Chicago Bears barely snuck into this postseason. It’s the biggest mismatch of the Wild Card Weekend, as the Saints are whopping 10-point favorites over the Bears in the Superdome.
The line suggests this could be ugly, but Saints fans know not to take anything for granted after witnessing their team endure some truly bizarre exits from the NFL Playoffs over the last three years. Now, in a spot where Spongebob Squarepants will be doing the pregame show and the enigmatic Mitch Trubisky is playing quarterback for the opposition, things could get weird again in New Orleans.
Who will perform well and probably get slimed as a result? Let’s find out!

COVID-Cleared Kamara Carries the Offense
Brees has not looked great in the Saints last few playoff outings. The usually careful quarterback has turned the ball over in his last five postseason games and his yards per attempt in losses to the Rams and Vikings were well below his career average. It got bad enough last year that people were hoping Taysom Hill would keep running the Saints offense.
“Bad move putting in Drew Brees in for Taysom Hill.”

The best way to combat a potential let down from their almost 42-year-old QB is to put the ball in Alvin Kamara’s hands and let him go to work.
It looked like New Orleans might have to be without their star, after he tested positive for COVID-19 on Jan. 1. But the schedule broke the Saints way — the earliest Kamara could come back under the league’s COVID protocols was this Sunday — and all signs point to the stud running back suiting up on Sunday.
See y’all Sunday ❤️

Against a reeling Bears defense that could be without their All-Pro middle linebacker, Roquan Smith, Kamara should have an even more productive day than when these teams met in Week 8 and he racked up 163 total yards.
Pick: 1 unit on Kamara OVER 101.5 rushing and receiving yards (-112)
Here’s To You Mr. Robinson
Matt Nagy lamented not getting Allen Robinson more involved in Chicago’s Week 17 game against the Packers. Just the fourth Bears player to record 100 or more receptions in a season, Robinson had just five targets on that afternoon, as rookie Darnell Mooney was the focus of the offense.
Bears are going with “questionable” for LB Roquan Smith & WR Darnell Mooney for the Saints game despite both being ruled out quickly after getting hurt vs. GB and not practicing at all.

The Bears only chance to win this game is if their best players can carry the load. That means a lot of David Montgomery and a lot of play action shots off of that.
Most targets in NFL w/ only 1 drop:
1. Allen Robinson II – 145
2. DeAndre Hopkins – 144
3. Davante Adams – 140
4. Tyler Boyd – 105 pic.twitter.com/oVglg6uE1S— PFF (@PFF) January 2, 2021
Robinson had 87 yards in their first meeting this season and should see even more work with Mooney likely sidelined. With free agency looming, the wide receiver is going to want to put his best foot forward in what will likely be his last game of the year.
What’s nice about this bet is that even if it does turn into a Saints blowout, Robinson has thrived in garbage time this year, so the OVER will always be in play.
Pick: Allen Robinson OVER 70.5 receiving yards (-112)

Cooking Up a Victory
There’s no great approach for how the Bears defense can play the Saints. If they sit back in zone, Brees will pick them apart. If they try and play tight man and let that underperforming pass rush get home, New Orleans will have a mismatch on either Kamara, or tight end Jared Cook.

Again, Smith’s status will be huge for how the Bears fare in this one. If he can’t go, Chicago has no linebackers capable of playing decent coverage, meaning the middle of the field will be ripe for the picking, something the Packers easily exploited last week.

Cook led the Saints in receiving TD this season, and even with Michael Thomas back in the fold, he should get a few opportunities to make plays in this one.
Pick: 1 unit on Jared Cook to score a TD anytime (+210)
