About two-thirds of the way through the season, the Toronto Maple Leafs have exactly double the wins the Chicago Blackhawks do. The former Norris Division rivals face off at Scotiabank Arena on Wednesday, February 15th at 7pm ET with the game being carried on TNT and Sportsnet.
As you might expect, the Maple Leafs are massive moneyline favorites when they host the lowly Blackhawks. Chicago is fresh off a 4-0 defeat to Montreal, while the well rested Leafs last played on Saturday.
Below, we provide you all the Blackhawks vs Maple Leafs odds, while also offering up our best bet and prediction for this Wednesday night clash.
Blackhawks vs Maple Leafs Odds
Game Time | Team | Puck Line | Total | Moneyline |

There are six NHL games on Wednesday night, but nobody is anywhere near as big a favorite as the Maple Leafs are. Paying -450 on the moneyline, Toronto has an implied win probability of 81.82% and the odds give them a 65.52% chance to win by at least two goals on the puck line.

Matthews May Return to Maple Leafs Lineup
Although he has slipped out of contention in the Hart Trophy odds following a year when he took home the trophy with a 60-goal season, Auston Matthews is still the Maple Leafs’ best player. After missing the last five games with a knee injury, it appears his return is likely against the Blackhawks.

Toronto has gone 2-3 without their superstar forward and are coming off a loss where they blew a two goal lead to the lowly Blue Jackets. Rookie Joseph Woll was in net for that one, his first appearance this season, but Ilya Samsonov will be back in the crease when the Leafs host their Original 6 rivals.
Home ice has been a huge advantage for the Russian netminder this season. He’s only lost three games at Scotiabank Arena all year.
Ilya Samsonov 2022/23 Home/Road Splits
Location | Record | GAA | SV % |
---|---|---|---|
Home | 15-2-1 | 2.07 | .924 |
Away | 3-4-1 | 2.88 | .903 |
If he played every game like he did at home, the former Caps netminder might be the favorite in the Vezina Trophy odds in his first season as a Maple Leaf. He’s coming off a shutout in his last outing, Friday against Columbus.
Trade Deadline Looms Large for Blackhawks
It’s been a season to forget for the Blackhawks. Only one team in the league, the Columbus Blue Jackets, have less points in the entire NHL. Superstar Patrick Kane is suffering through the worst season of his career.
With that being said, the rumor mill has been running rampant in the Windy City, with two of the greatest players in franchise history possibly heading out the door. Kane and longtime teammate Jonathan Toews are both in the last year of their contracts and could be traded to team who wants to move up the table in the Stanley Cup odds.

It’s a distraction that just won’t go away and isn’t helping matters for an already poor Blackhawks squad. They have lost five of their last 10 by at least two goals and have allowed an average of over four goals per game in their last five.
Blackhawks vs Maple Leafs Pick and Prediction
While the Maple Leafs have made a habit of playing down to their competition, it would be stunning to see them lose this one. It’s hard to even imagine this game being competitive. The Blackhawks are playing the second half of a back-to-back and got banged up against the Canadiens while suffering a 4-0 loss Tuesday night.
Jared Tinordi suffered an injury and won’t play against Toronto, while Jason Dickinson and MacKenzie Entwistle both left the game temporarily with different issues.
Blackhawks vs Maple Leafs Same-Game Parlay Picks
Pick | Odds |
---|---|
Toronto Maple Leafs Over 3.5 Goals | -215 |
Chicago Blackhawks Under 2.5 Goals | -180 |
PARLAY ODDS | Â +115 |
Our prediction is the Maple Leafs perform a smash job on a wounded Blackhawks side in the NHL odds. The likely return of Matthews, who is always geared up to play against one of his American on-ice idols in Patrick Kane, will only make things that much more difficult for Chicago when these two do battle.
In sports, anything can happen, but a big Leafs victory is as sure a bet as you’ll be able to find on the ice on Wednesday night.
