The Vikings won last week, but they beat the now 1-5 Bears and did so with Justin Fields getting knocked out of the game for Chicago and getting to face backup Tyson Bagent.

The Vikes other win came against the still winless (0-6) Carolina Panthers. So that’s two wins against two teams who have combined for a 1-11 record heading into the Week 7.

Minnesota’s calling card has been the passing game. Their third in passing yards per game and Kirk Cousins is second to only Tua Tagovailoa in passing yards. But they’ve lost Justin Jefferson and the 49ers are tenth in pass defense.

The 49ers also have just two losses in their past 19 games. One came in the NFC Championship game and one came last week, 19-17 in  Cleveland. Last week’s loss came with Deebo Samuel and Christian McCaffrey getting knocked out with injuries, but they still had a chance to win the game had Jake Moody made a 41-yard potential winning kick at the end of the game. San Fran to rebound here with a win.

49ers vs Vikings SGP Picks: Brandon Aiyuk Receiving Yards

Brandon Aiyuk was already the leader in targets (37), catches (25) and yards (454) for San Fran, despite missing one game. And that was with Deebo Samuel and Christian McCaffrey in the lineup.

Samuel is out and McCaffrey is questionable, so it only stands to reason Brock Purdy will be looking Aiyuk’s way more often.

While he hasn’t scored a TD since Week 1, he’s caught four or more passes in 4/5 games and seen six or more targets in every game. His yardage totals have been 76, 58 and 148 the past three games and versus a Vikings pass defense that is middle of the pack (17), he should get plenty of action on Monday Night Football.

With no more Justin Jefferson, someone has to pick up the slack. In Week 6, tight end TJ Hockenson led the Vikings with six catches but only 50 yards.

Hockenson has seen eight or more targets in all but one game this season and has made five or more catches in all but one game too.

His highest yardage total is only 78 yards and he hasn’t gone over 51 in any of the past three games so we’ll instead target alt receiving yards for our MNF SGP picks.

The Vikings and Kirk Cousins throw the ball more than any other team and if they’re down in this game versus this 5-1 San Fran team, they may be forced to keep playing with that strategy.
