Coastal Carolina vs Auburn Picks & Predictions
- Auburn -215 (+105 at DraftKings)
We will get a battle of the aces in Game 1 as Samuel Dutton takes the mound for Auburn. Meanwhile, Cameron Flukey starts for Coastal Carolina. Dutton can go six or seven innings but Flukey was a Sun Belt Conference standout all season.
Flukey had been incredible during the 2025 season, posting a 3.12 ERA and a 7-1 record through 15 starts. The opposition batted just .209 against the 6-6 right-hander. throwing 8 1/3 scoreless innings, allowing just four hits and striking out seven.
The Sun Belt pitcher ranked in the Top 5 in at least five different categories. Flukey pitched seven strong innings against Fairfield in the opening game of the regional. Coastal Carolina easily won that game 10-2.
But Auburn is an offensive machine when it counts. They swept through their regional and kept punching through. Auburn manufactures runs like few teams in college baseball. When the Tigers turn it on, look out! North Carolina State found that out the hard way in the regional final.
Even with their pitching, Auburn piles on the offense at home. They are 28-6 while outscoring their opponents 297-150. The Tigers hit a scorching .339 at Plainsman Park. Flukey and Coastal Carolina know the cards may be stacked against them.
Auburn is now in their fourth Super Regional since 2018 and advanced in 2019 and 2022. Meanwhile, Coastal Carolina has the much talked about winning streak of 21 games.
The Chanticleers average 7.6 runs per game without a clear top power hitter. Coastal Carolina plays small ball, gets runners on base, and leads the nation in batters hit by a pitch. Sebastian Alexander is one of their key spark plugs. He hits over .300, has stolen 27 bases, and has a team-high 53 RBI’s.
Auburn does not mash the ball either but the Tigers excel at creating havoc by not striking out often.
It will be interesting to see if Coastal Carolina deals with some adversity. Auburn has at times this season and the Tigers do tend to jump out to early leads.
As much as the Over is another option to wager on, the idea that Auburn wins by two or more runs on Friday would not be surprising at all.
Instead, I like Auburn’s offense to stand and deliver. The Tigers have hit well all year at home. It is rare they get shut down. The Tigers are fifth among the 16 teams at +1000 to win the National Championship and -145 to advance to the College World Series. Let us roll the bones.
