Kansas has officially welcomed its seventh live sports betting operator.

The launch also comes almost two months after bet365 announced it joined the Sports Betting Alliance.

The sports betting operator launched today in the Sunflower State just ahead of the 2025 NFL season. Kansas City Chiefs fans will be able to use the seventh live online sports betting platform for a number of live NFL markets throughout the season.

Kansas bet365 will allow users to fully take advantage of the upcoming NFL season through its entire sports betting catalogue, which features same game parlays, money line bets, total bets, player props, and in-game betting.
Bet365 joins a crowded market that already includes BetMGM, Caesars Sportsbook, DraftKings, ESPN BET, Fanatics Sportsbook, and FanDuel. Kansas launched its sports betting market on Sept. 1, 2022, needing just 74 days from bill approval to launch.
This will be the third market bet365 has launched in 2025, behind Tennessee and Illinois earlier this year. The operator launched in both states on March 16, 2025.
Big Changes Coming to Market?
Each of the current other six sports betting operators in Kansas – DraftKings, FanDuel, BetMGM, Fanatics Sportsbook, Caesars Sportsbook, and ESPN BET – have their licenses set to expire on Aug. 31, 2027.
However, state lawmakers approved a provision in the state budget that disallows the state from negotiating or extending the licenses of any current sports betting operators through 2026.
The approved amendment came on the final day of the state’s legislative session. The provision reads as such:
“During the fiscal year ending June 30, 2026, notwithstanding the provisions of K.S.A. 74-8734, and amendments thereto, and K.S.A. 2024 Supp. 74-8781, and amendments thereto, or any other statute, no expenditures shall be made by the above agency from moneys appropriated from the state general fund or from any special revenue fund or funds for fiscal year 2026, as authorized by this or other appropriation act of the 2025 regular session of the legislature, to negotiate or enter into any contract or extension or renewal of an existing contract for the management of sports wagering with any lottery gaming facility manager.”
It will disallow the state to negotiate contract extensions with the sportsbooks through June 30, 2026. If a new deal isn’t reached by the time of the license expiration, the sportsbooks will no longer be able to take bets and will likely go dark.
Bet365 Part of Sports Betting Alliance
It has been a busy year for bet365, as the British gaming company also announced in June that it joined the Sports Betting Alliance.
The gaming operator joins BetMGM, DraftKings, Fanatics, and FanDuel as part of the official coalition. The alliance advocates for legal, regulated, and competitive sports betting and iGaming markets in all 50 states.
bet365’s U.S. operations are currently headquartered in Colorado. It is the first new member of the Sports Betting Alliance since the group debuted in 2021.
Members of the Sports Betting Alliance operate exclusively in states and jurisdictions where sports betting is legal and regulated, ensuring compliance with all applicable laws and promoting responsible gaming tools.
