San Antonio Spurs at Phoenix Suns (-1.5, 207.5 o/u)

Tonight, the San Antonio Spurs conclude their nine-game road trip (which spanned the All-Star break) in Phoenix as they face the Suns at the US Airways Center (9:00 p.m. Eastern).

The Spurs and Suns have split their two previous meetings this year. Last time out (Jan. 9), San Antonio beat Phoenix 100-95, led by 20 points from Danny Green.  The Spurs battled to a win despite playing the entire second half without their big three: Tim Duncan, Tony Parker, and Manu Ginobili.

Suns coach Jeff Hornacek felt that his team was complacent of offense that night, instead of staying aggressive.

“You saw the times that we drove it in there, you get a shorter shot or you get fouled,” Hornaceck said that night. “But they want to live by the jumper or die by the jumper, I guess. These guys think they can make every shot, but if you don’t, you lose.”

San Antonio had lost four straight after the All-Star break, but got back in the win column last night with a convincing 107-96 win over the Kings. Parker, who had been ice-cold of late, rebounded with 19 points on 7/16 shooting.

The Suns, meanwhile, are coming off a massive 117-113 OT win over Oklahoma City, whom they’re battling for the eighth and final playoff spot in the West. The new-look Suns, who now feature a dynamic back-court of Eric Bledsoe and Brandon Knight, struggled immediately post-trade deadline, but have now won two in a row.

The Suns will be looking to turn the tide of the Spurs tonight. Phoenix has lost seven of its last ten meetings with San Antonio, and five of the last ten at home.
