Yards are great, but points – particularly touchdowns – win games. One of the most popular prop bets around is a good, old-fashioned anytime touchdown bet. From running quarterbacks to reserve tight ends or – in the case of the Lions – a tackle-eligible touchdown, it is useful to analyze the best values for touchdown scorer bets.
Many bettors love a good touchdown parlay. I’ve provided the best six options to fill your bet slips – whether you are betting on singles or mixing and matching for a parlay. Keep reading for the justification on how these six players will find paydirt on Monday night.
Best Buccaneers vs Lions TD Scorer Picks
The best odds in the table are as of noon ET, October 20th. Readers can bookmark SBD’s NFL touchdown scorer odds page to see up-to-the-minute props for every NFL game.
David Montgomery Anytime TD (-130)
David Montgomery has scored in three of six games, tallying four total touchdowns – not including his passing touchdown in Week 5. In three seasons with the Lions, Montgomery has scored 29 times, predominantly being deployed in the red zone as the “Knuckles” alternative to Jahymr Gibbs’ “Sonic” moniker.
According to Stathead’s play finder function, Montgomery has 17 rush attempts in the red zone this season. Notably, he has three attempts from the one-yard line (two touchdowns) and five other attempts from inside the five. Montgomery loses some touches to Gibbs, but he has enough of the share to warrant consideration for an anytime touchdown bet.
Mike Evans Anytime TD (+125)
Consider for a moment that only 21 men in NFL history are as prolific as Mike Evans at scoring touchdowns. Evans has surpassed 10 touchdowns in a season six times, including each of the last two seasons. While he has only scored one touchdown (in three games) this season, Evans will be on the charge for massive receiving production as he chases down his 12th consecutive 1,000-yard season.
While yards are not touchdowns, Evans’ continual quest for 1,000 yards puts him in a prime position for touchdowns every week, as he is often targeted on deep passes and in the red zone. According to PFF, Evans has averaged two deep targets per game this season (hauling in just one for a catch). Last season, he went 7-for-15 on deep targets, catching four touchdowns.
Cade Otton Anytime TD (+175)
Cade Otton has 10 NFL touchdowns on his ledger, but he has yet to score in 2025. He has four touchdowns in each of the last two seasons, being a reliable target for Baker Mayfield. All 10 of his career touchdowns have come in the red zone with seven of 10 coming inside the 10-yard line.
Otton has one career touchdown against the Lions, catching a touchdown in Tampa Bay’s eventual loss in the 2023-2024 Divisional Playoffs.
Otton has an uncanny ability to turn a plethora of targets into a touchdown. In six career games with at least nine targets, he has scored a touchdown in four games – including multiple touchdowns twice. Unlike some one-target wonders, Otton has has at least four targets in every game he has scored a touchdown in.
Sterling Shepard Anytime TD (+260)
Sterling Sherpard has one touchdown on the season, coming in Tampa Bay’s win over Seattle. He has 25 receiving touchdowns in his career, scoring exactly one in each of the last five seasons dating back to 2021. His career high of eight touchdowns came in his rookie season all the way back in 2016. Shepard also has a rushing touchdown to his name.
The value in Shepard’s line comes from his connection with Baker Mayfield, as they have reunited after being college teammates. Shepard has at least three targets in all six games this season, maxing out with six targets in Week 1. Particularly if Emeka Egbuka or Mike Evans cannot go, Shepard is a solid bet to score.
Baker Mayfield Anytime TD (+650)
Baker Mayfield has 10 career scrimmage touchdowns. While he has yet to score one this season, he has not been afraid to stick his nose into tough situations as a runner.
Nine of Mayfield’s 10 rushing touchdowns have come inside the 10-yard line. The only one that did not is a 11-yard scamper in Tampa Bay’s win over Detroit last season. He has been a sneak weapon at times, punching in touchdowns from the one-yard line three times in his career.
Jared Goff Anytime TD (+1800)
This is less about Goff himself and more about the evil genius of Dan Campbell and John Morton. Goff is one of the most statuesque quarterbacks in the NFL, but he has 13 career scrimmage touchdowns, not counting his controversially overturned touchdown last week.
Usually, quarterbacks are only threats to throw for or run for touchdowns, but Goff caught a touchdown last year. Since coming to Detroit, he has two rushing touchdowns and a receiving touchdown. Will the Lions pull out another trick play to reward Goff this week?
