After months of work to promulgate rules, award licenses, and test controls, Missouri sports betting apps are finally here.
Missouri officially launched its online and in-person sports betting market today, the 39th state in the U.S. to offer sports betting. The Show-Me State has opened its online sports betting market with eight licensed operators.
DraftKings Missouri, Circa Missouri, FanDuel Missouri, Fanatics Sportsbook Missouri, Caesars Sportsbook Missouri, theScore Bet Missouri (formerly ESPN BET Missouri), bet365 Missouri, and BetMGM Missouri are now open for business.

Two Major MO Online Sports Betting Changes on Launch
As Missouri opens its sports betting market, PENN Entertainment and Underdog have both instituted changes to their planned offerings in the Show-Me State.
Underdog withdrew its temporary online sports betting license from the state, instead shifting its focus to prediction contract offerings. Missouri Gaming Commission Chairman Jan M. Zimmerman confirmed the license withdrawal to Sports Betting Dime and a separate member of the commission provided this comment:
“Underdog withdrew their application for a sports wagering license, but they maintain their fantasy sports contest operator license in good standing.”
Underdog confirmed the license withdrawal, but did not offer any further comment.
Additionally, PENN Entertainment will no longer offer ESPN BET in the state. PENN Entertainment and ESPN BET Missouri ceased their 10-year sports betting partnership in early November, with PENN officially rebranding its sports betting platform to theScore Bet and ESPN BET shuttering its doors on Dec. 1.
Customers can now register accounts for theScore Bet in the state. Previously registered ESPN BET accounts in the state will automatically be rebranded to theScore Bet, according to a PENN spokesperson, with all funds and promos automatically transferring to the new platform.
Missouri Sportsbooks Planning Special Launch Events
Several of the Missouri sports betting operators will be hosting special launch day events in the Show-Me State to celebrate the new market.
DraftKings Missouri is enlisting the help of several Show-Me State sports legends for the day. NFL Hall of Famer Tony Gonzalez, NFL Hall of Famer Isaac Bruce, and NHL Hall of Famer Brett Hull will be placing ceremonial first online sports bets at The Palladium in St. Louis, with Missouri House Speaker Jonathan Patterson (R-30) also providing remarks during the day.
In addition to the ceremonial first bet, DraftKings will donate $50,000 to the Veterans Community Project, a nonprofit organization dedicated to ending Veteran homelessness in Missouri. The donation will support the Veterans Community Project’s Tiny Homes initiative, which provides transitional housing, comprehensive care, and services to help Veterans successfully transition to independent living.
FanDuel is planning two donations to celebrate Missouri’s sports betting launch, as it announced a $300,000 donation to Guns ‘N Hoses, a St. Louis-based nonprofit that hosts the annual charity boxing event benefiting The BackStoppers. The organization provides financial assistance to the families of fallen and injured first responders.
A second $300,000 donation from FanDuel will be made to the Veterans Community Project.
Fanatics Sportsbook has announced a ribbon cutting ceremony at both Ameristar Casino locations at 4 p.m. to open its new in-person Fanatics Sportsbooks. Fanatics Sportsbook at Ameristar Casino Kansas City will host a grand opening ceremony with retired Kansas City Royals legend Alex Gordon placing a ceremonial first bet at 4 p.m. CT.
The Fanatics Sportsbook at Ameristar Casino St. Charles will host a grand opening ceremony with retired St. Louis Blues legend Patrick Maroon placing the ceremonial first bet at 4 p.m CT.
Caesars Sportsbook is hosting a ceremonial first bet at Harrah’s Kansas City with Chiefs legend Christian Okoye and a ceremonial first bet at Horseshoe Casino in St. Louis with Chiefs legend Trent Green. Green will appear at Caesars locations Harrah’s Kansas City, Horseshoe St. Louis, and Isle of Capri Boonville during the day for the sports betting launch.
