  • Super Bowl LX is set to kick off on Sunday evening at 6:30 p.m. ET on NBC and Peacock.
  • The Seattle Seahawks and the New England Patriots will battle it out for the biggest prize in football out in Santa Clara.
  • Most states around the country offer some form of daily fantasy sports (DFS) for the big game. Read more below.

First, the good news. Most states have at least some form of DFS action available for Sunday’s big game. Most states in the union allow pick’em contests and salary cap drafts on apps like Underdog, DraftKings, FanDuel, Betr, Chalkboard, Splash, Sleeper, Dabble, Boom Sports and more.

In fact, over 40 states have DFS options available to residents. Make sure you check your local rules, as most states require DFS players to be 18+ years old. Some states have different minimum ages (19 or 21).

There are numerous options available for interested parties. Check out SBD’s list of the best welcome offers and promo codes below:

Where DFS is offline

Unfortunately, several states (mostly in the northwest United States) have blocked paid DFS contests entirely or have such restrictive laws that major apps have pulled out. If you are in these states for the Super Bowl, you’ll likely be restricted to “Free-to-Play” modes only:

  • Total Bans: Washington, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, and Hawaii.
  • Highly Restricted: Connecticut and Delaware (where traditional salary cap DFS is often limited to specific licensed operators).

Nevada remains the great irony of the sports world; while it is the betting capital of the world, it requires DFS operators to hold a gambling license, which most DFS-specific apps have refused to do, keeping them out of the state for years.

Unfortunately for Seahawks fans out in Washington state, DFS options won’t be available for the big game.

The California Conundrum: Playing DFS in the host state

Since Super Bowl LX is being held in Santa Clara, California, the status of DFS in the Golden State is one of the most-asked questions of the week.

As of early 2026, the situation in California is complicated. In 2025, the California Attorney General issued an advisory opinion stating that DFS might violate state law. However, California has not yet moved into a phase of aggressive enforcement. Most major operators have maintained their stance that their games are legal skill-based contests and continue to offer services to California residents. If you are attending the game at Levi’s Stadium, you will likely find that your apps are still functional, even if the state government hasn’t fully sanctioned them.
