The red-hot Detroit Pistons visit the Orlando Magic tonight, with the visitors laying 1.5 points in the latest NBA odds. Detroit enters this matchup rolling, boasting an 8-2 straight-up record over their last 10 games, while Orlando is looking to right the shit after dropping eight of their past 11 games overall.
Tip-off is scheduled for 7:00 PM ET at the Kia Center, in Orlando, FL with television coverage provided by FanDuel Sports Network Detroit and South Florida.
Here are my favorite picks, plus the latest injury news and betting splits for the Pistons vs Magic contest.
Pistons vs Magic Picks

I’m laying the 1.5 points with Detroit tonight, despite a plethora of injuries we’ll discuss below. The Pistons are a top NBA Championship odds contender, and a highly profitable 6-2 against the spread following a win over their last 8 games.
On the other side of the spectrum, the Magic are just 1-6 straight up at home as an underdog over their last 7 games.
The biggest disparity between these two teams is on the glass. The Pistons haul in an elite 52.8% of available rebounds (5th in the NBA), generating 16.9 second-chance points per game (5th). Orlando is merely average on the boards (49.9% Total REB%) and sits in the bottom third of the league in capitalizing on extra possessions.
Both teams are dealing with significant injuries, but while the Pistons have adjusted to life without Cade Cunningham, the Magic will desperately miss Franz Wagner, as well as the primary backup guard Anthony Black.
As for the total, I’m betting over 221.5 for this matchup. The Pistons have absolutely lit the lamp over their last five games, bringing a ton of offensive momentum into this contest. Detroit sits tied for 7th in the NBA at 117.5 points per game and shoots a highly efficient 48.3% from the field. While Orlando’s defense is capable, they surrender 115.3 points per night. With both teams missing key defensive pieces, expect a fast-paced game that pushes past the projected scoring median.

If you want to tail my picks tonight, you’ll need to fire up both the FanDuel and Bet365 apps. FD is currently offering the best price on a Pistons cover, while Bet365’s 221.5 point total is a point less than the rest of the market.

Pistons vs Magic Injury Reports
The Pistons are navigating severe losses to their primary rotation, most notably playing without their franchise point guard Cunningham. Without him orchestrating the halfcourt offense, Detroit will rely heavily on collective ball movement to get up and down the court.
On the other side, Orlando’s interior defense is going to sorely miss Jonathan Isaac. Isaac is a premier rim protector, and without him anchoring the second unit, Detroit’s aggressive forwards will find considerably less resistance in the paint.
Without Wagner, the Magic lose their second leading scorer and rebounder, which will only contribute to Detroit’s significant advantage on the glass.
Pistons vs Magic Betting Splits
Moving over to the NBA public betting markets, where the spread betting is incredibly balanced. The Pistons are currently drawing a slight majority of the tickets, accounting for 51.2% of the betting slips. However, the Magic hold a marginal edge in the actual handle, commanding 50.8% of the money.
If the spread market is a tug-of-war, the total market is entirely one-sided. Bettors are heavily anticipating an offensive showcase. A staggering 92.5% of the betting tickets are on the over, and the money is following suit, with 88.4% of the total stake backing the high-scoring outcome.
