  • The T-wolves visit the Nuggets in Game 2 of their 1st Round Western Conference Playoff series tonight
  • With Minnesota repeatedly surrendering open passing lanes, Nikola Jokic is a strong bet to eclipse 9.5 assists.

The T-wolves vs Nuggets Western Conference 1st Round series continues tonight, with Denver looking to take a 2-0 lead in the best-of-7 series. Nikola Jokic dominated across the board in the Nuggets Game 1 win, masterfully orchestrating the half-court offense.

I’m betting Jokic will have another huge impact on tonight’s contest, and will be targeting him as one of my top T-wolves vs Nuggets player prop picks.

Keep reading for the reasons why along with the rest of my picks, plus the latest player prop odds for Game 2 below.

When diving into the NBA props line movement, several intriguing storylines emerge. Jokic’s assist line sits at 9.5, but multiple sportsbooks initially opened this at 10.5 before sharp action drove the total down. This moves suggests the betting market respects the length of the road team and anticipates them turning Jokic into a pure scorer. I disagree, as no team in basketball has shown the ability to deter Joker’s playmaking this season.

On the other side, Rudy Gobert faces a grueling physical test. His rebounding total sits at 11.5, which feels too high given the size of Denver’s interior, which should shift rebounding responsibilities to secondary options.

Backing Jokic to reach 10 assists is simply too good a bet to pass up. The multiple time NBA MVP odds champion has hit that mark in five straight games he’s started and finished, and in six of his last seven overall.

In the series opener, he logged a 25.6% usage rate and recorded 11 dimes. The Timberwolves’ defense surrendered 27 total assists in Game 1, exposing a glaring inability to disrupt passing lanes.

Because the T-wolves prefer to play drop coverage, Jokic has ample space at the elbows to dissect the floor. I am happily grabbing the discounted line on the MVP’s elite court vision to exploit this specific half-court weakness.

On the other side, I am fading Rudy Gobert under 11.5 rebounds at +106. Gobert is consistently one of the best glass-cleaners in the NBA, but Denver possesses the size and scheme to completely neutralize his rebounding upside. Because Jokic frequently draws him out to the perimeter, the center’s defensive rebounding opportunities have cratered.

While Gobert will struggle on the glass, Minnesota proved in Game 1 they can generate high-percentage looks inside. They poured in 54 points in the paint in the series opener, led by the relentless interior attacking from Anthony Edwards and Julius Randle. Of the two, I prefer the upside of Edwards, who I’m also betting to exceed his 26.5 points prop.

Anthony Edwards vs Nuggets This Season

He averaged over 30 points per game versus the Nuggets this season and took a team-high 19 shots in Game 1. I wouldn’t be surprised if he exceeded that number tonight given the magnitude of the stakes, and we can count on him improving his 36.8% field goal percentage from the series opener.
