2025 AL Rookie of the Year Odds Movement Timeline
- September 12 – The AL ROY race is officially OFF at sportsbooks, with the Athletics’ Nick Kurtz likely to be crowned the winner. He was getting odds as high as -50000 when they were most recently available.
- July 17 – The race for the AL Rookie of the Year will likely be a tight race between the Athletics’ Jacob Wilson (+110) and the Astros’ Cam Smith (+140), though another A’s rookie, Nick Kurtz (+350) could make a late surge if he continues to hammer homers.
- May 7 – Wilson and Campbell continue to distance themselves from the rest of pack. They’re now respectively averaging +150 and +170 to win the AL Rookie of the Year.
- April 10 – We’ve got two new AL ROY favorites, with the Red Sox’s Kristian Campbell and the Athletics’ Jacob Wilson climbing to +230 and +310, respectively.
- February 26 – Yankees’ outfielder Jasson Dominguez has opened as favorite to win the AL Rookie of the Year at +450, just ahead of the Red Sox’s Roman Anthony at +650.

- September 24 – With just a few games left, Cade Horton’s odds have shrunk to -210, with Atlanta’s Drake Baldwin not far behind at +170.
- September 12 – ANOTHER NL Central pitcher has emerged as the ROY favorite: the Cubs’ Cade Horton, who’s gone 7-1 with 46 Ks and an ERA of 0.84 in his last 10 games, is now getting average odds of -124.
- July 17 – The Brewers’ Jacob Misiorowski didn’t just earn himself a shock ASG appearance; after 5 starts, he’s now a very short -210 to win the NL ROY.
- May 7 – Despite hitting just .219 over the past month, the Nationals’ Dylan Crews is back at the top of the NL ROY odds table, averaging +256 to win in 2025.
- April 10 – After a rough three-game start to the season, the Dodgers’ Roki Sasaki ROY odds have dropped to +500.
- February 26 – The Dodgers’ Roki Saski opens at +225 as the NL ROY favorite, just ahead of the Nationals’ Dylan Crews (+350) and the Cubs’ Matt Shaw (+425).
2024 AL Rookie of the Year Odds
- September 22: The only MLB player award that’s still a tight race in the AL ROY odds where Luis Gil (-150) is favored over Colton Cowser (+240) and Austin Well (+328).
- August 6: With Wyatt Langford (+1533) missing time due to injury, Colton Cowser (-149) became the odds-on AL ROY favorite, followed by Luis Gil (+254).
- July 11: The Rangers’ Wyatt Langford has jumped back to the top of the AL ROY odds at +121, followed closely by the Yankees’ Luis Gil at +208.
- June 10: Approaching the halfway point of the season, four player have emerged as serious contenders in the AL ROY odds: Luis Gil (-122), Mason Miller (+321), Wilyer Abreu (+546), and Colton Cowser (+800). No one else is shorter than +2000.
- May 29: Miller’s odds have shortened to +157 with Cowser still the second-favorite at +290.
- May 15: The Athletics’ Mason Miller has come roaring onto the AL ROY scene, riding his 103 mph fastball to the top of the table, with odds averaging at +176.
- April 25: Orioles outfielder Colton Cowser has become a sizable +175 AL ROY favorite with Rangers OF Evan Carter second at +371.
- April 10: Orioles shortstop Jackson Holliday (+283) is almost even with Langford (+237) at the top of the AL ROY odds two weeks into the season.
- March 26: With the Rangers promoting Wyatt Langford to their Opening Day roster, the outfielder has taken over as the favorite to win AL Rookie of the Year.
- February 1: Jackson Holliday has opened as the favorite to win AL Rookie of the Year.
2024 NL Rookie of the Year Odds
- September 22: In one of the wildest odds shifts in recent memory, Jackson Merrill went from a +1517 longshot just six weeks ago to -246 favorite as Paul Skenes faded from a prohibitively short -5000 to +165.
- August 6: The most lopsided race among all the MLB awards is Paul Skenes to win NL ROY at -5000. Jackson Merrill is a distant second-favorite at +1517.
- July 11: Paul Skenes continues to dazzle in his rookie season and is now a -374 favorite, on average, to win NL Rookie of the Year. Second-favorite Jackson Merrill is +319 while former favorite Shota Imanaga has faded to +1650.
- June 10: After a couple rough outings, Imanaga has faded to +123. Skenes is now a close second-favorite at +221.
- May 29: Shota Imanaga has become the odds-on NL Rookie of the Year favorite at -131. Paul Skenes (+567) is the second-favorite after just three starts, sporting a 2.25 ERA and 1.00 WHIP.
- May 5: With odds averaging at +155, the Cubs’ Shota Imanaga has passed his compatriot Yamamoto (+356) as favorite for the NL ROY.
- April 25: Cubs infielder Michael Busch (+435) has surpassed Yoshinobu Yamamoto (+499) as the NL ROY favorite with Pirates pitcher Jared Jones (+500) a close third-favorite.
- April 10: Yamamoto (+258) remains the favorite but Brewers outfielder Jackson Chourio (+397) is making a strong early push.
- March 14: LAD’s Yoshinobu Yamamoto (+173) starts the year as a heavy favorite in the NL Rookie of the Year odds, followed by SF’s Lee Jung (+597).
2023 AL Rookie of the Year Odds
- August 9: A strong month has pushed Gunnar Henderson to the top of the 2023 AL Rookie of the Year odds at -216. Oddsmakers see Masataka Yoshida (+219) as his only real competition.
- July 11: Josh Jung (+123) has widened his lead over Masataka Yoshida (+265) while third-favorite Gunnar Henderson (+303) is making a strong push in the AL Rookie of the Year odds.
- June 20: Rangers infielder Josh Jung (+181) has narrowly surpassed Red Sox outfielder Masataka Yoshida (+265) as the 2023 AL Rookie of the Year favorite.
- May 21: Boston outfielder Masataka Yoshida is a heavy favorite two months into the season, sitting at +134, with second-favorite Bryce Miller back at +917.
- March 27: Orioles infielder Gunnar Henderson will start the season as the 2023 AL Rookie of the Year favorite.
2023 NL Rookie of the Year Odds
- August 9: Carroll is now the presumptive winner at -2927 thanks to a recent slump from De La Cruz (+2400).
- July 11: De La Cruz (+241) is making a strong push and preventing Carroll (-333) from running away in the NL Rookie of the Year odds at midseason.
- June 20: Also the second-favorite in the NL MVP odds, Diamondbacks standout rookie Corbin Carroll is now a prohibitively short -469 favorite in the 2023 NL Rookie of the Year odds.
- June 5: Corbin Carroll (+100) is nearly an odds-on favorite after a strong couple weeks, while former favorite James Outman has faded to a distant second.
- May 21: Dodgers outfielder James Outman (+137) has taken over from Diamondbacks outfielder Corbin Carroll (+202) as the NL ROY betting favorite.
- March 27: Cardinals outfielder Jordan Walker (+372) enters the season as a slight favorite over Arizona outfielder Corbin Carroll (+379), with intriguing Mets pitcher Kodai Senga third at +820.
2022 AL Rookie of the Year Odds
- Sep. 4: Despite a strong push from Adley Rutschman (+450) over the past month, Julio Rodriguez remains a -600 AL ROY favorite with less than a month to play.
- July 31: The AL ROY odds are off the board at most books. At the sportsbooks that are still offering AL ROY futures, Julio Rodriguez is a -607 favorite, on average.
- June 5: Julio Rodriguez moved into a tie for favorite with Jeremy Pena with both at +210. Third-favorite Bobby Witt Jr is back at +675 and Joe Ryan faded from +600 to +950.
- May 23: Adley Rutschman improved from +2000 to +1250 after getting called up by Baltimore. The top-three favorites remain unchanged: Pena (+240), Rodriguez (+340), and Ryan (+600).
- May 18: Astros infielder Jeremy Pena has become the +290 favorite, improving roughly two-fold (from +575) over the past two weeks. Mariners OF Julio Rodriguez is a close second at +335.
- May 3: Seattle OF Julio Rodriguez has become the favorite at +438, passing both Spencer Torkelson (+475) and Bobby Witt Jr (+488).
- Apr. 25: Houston SS Jeremy Pena shortened from +875 to +775 after an extra-innings walk-off homer against Toronto. He remains the fifth-favorite.
- Apr. 17: Torkelson (+418) has moved into second and is closing the gap on Witt Jr (+305). Guardians OF Steven Kwan moved into the top five, improving from +1600 to +650.
- Apr. 10: Witt Jr has consolidated his status as favorite in the first few games of the season, improving from +295 to +275. Mariners OF Rodriguez shortened from +575 to +440 and now sits second (surpassing Tigers 1B Torkelson).
- Apr. 3: Royals infielder Bobby Witt Jr is a +295 favorite heading into the season with Tigers first baseman Spencer Torkelson (+475) second and Seattle outfielder Julio Rodriguez (+575) rounding out the top three.

2022 NL Rookie of the Year Odds
- Sep. 4: Strider has separated himself with less than a month to go in the regular season. Strider’s odds have shortened to -360 with Harris second at +270.
- July 31: ATL pitcher Spencer Strider (+138) has a narrow lead over teammate Michael Harris (+220).
- June 5: Mackenzie Gore is now a firm +195 favorite, but Nolan Gorman soared to second, going from +1000 to +235.
- May 23: Suzuki continues to get longer, now sitting at +150. While Gore improved again (+450 to +395), the big mover was Arizona OF Alek Thomas (+2000 to +825). He’s now the third-favorite.
- May 18: Suzuki’s odds have faded from -145 to +100 as Mackenzie Gore continues to close the gap. The Padres P improved from +900 to +450. Cardinals IF Juan Yepez, who wasn’t even on the board before, is now third-favorite at +800.
- May 3: Padres P Mackenzie Gore has shot up to second-favorite, improving from +2500 to +900. But Suzuki maintains a strong lead at -145.
- Apr. 25: Suzuki (who’s slashing .354/.492/.688) is already the odds-on favorite at -140 on average. Second-favorite Green has faded to +775 despite a solid start to the year.
- Apr. 17: Favorite Suzuki shortened again to +170. Reds P Hunter Greene is now second-favorite at +475.
- Apr. 10: Suzuki widened the gap between himself and the field. The Cubs OF shortened from +365 to +250. Second-favorite Cruz faded from +443 to +500.
- Apr. 3: Japanese star Seiya Suzuki of the Cubs is a +365 favorite, followed closely by Oneil Cruz (+443) of the Pirates.

2021 AL Rookie of the Year Odds
- Oct. 3: Arozarena wraps up the season as a -180 favorite. Wander Franco’s late-season made him the +350 second-favorite.
- Sep. 26: Mountcastle (+385) shortened again. Arozarena remains the -175 favorite.
- Sep. 20: The Orioles’ Ryan Mountcastle surged from +1800 to +625, becoming the third-favorite. Arozarena also shortened, though, from -160 to -175.
- Sep. 12: Arozarena improved from -140 to -160, while his main competitors either stayed put or got longer.
- Sep. 6: This race is far from over. Arozarena is still the odds-on chalk, but faded from -150 to -140, while Adolis Garcia improved from +435 to +325 and Wande Franco made another big move from +2750 to +775.
- Aug. 30: Arozarena continues to be the odds-on chalk at -150.Second-favorite Adolis Garcia slid further to +435, but third-favorite Luis Garcia improved from +600 to +550 after another stellar start.
- Aug. 22: Arozarena is the odds-on favorite for the first time this season, sitting at -125. Adolis Garcia faded to +400 and Luis Garcia to +600.
- Aug. 16: Arozarena shortened from +255 to +155. Second-favorite Adolis Garcia faded from +300 to +310. Third-favorite Luis Garcia fell from +350 to +390.
- Aug. 11: Arozarena (+225) has taken over as favorite (again) while Adolis Garcia (+300) and Luis Garcia (+350) are close behind.
- Aug. 8: Adolis Garcia’s lead continues to shrink. He faded to +225 while Randy Arozarena (+330) took a big leap into second, just ahead of Luis Garcia (+350).
- Aug. 2: Three players are within striking distance of favorite Adolis Garcia, who faded to +213. Luis Garcia improved to +310; Akil Baddoo went from +1600 to +345; and preseason favorite Randy Arozarena shortened form +900 to +450.
- July 28: Off the board for months, the ROY odds re-opened with Texas’ Adolis Garcia a +150 favorite over Houston pitcher Luis Garcia (+400) and preseason favorite Tampa Bay’s Randy Arozarena (+900).
- April 12: White Sox DH Yermin Mercedes has been raking early on and is now a top-three ROY favorite at +800.
- March 25:Tampa’s Randy Arozarena, who smashed all manner of franchise playoff records last year, is the early favorite at +350, almost twice as short as second-favorite Jarred Kelenic of the Mariners.

2021 NL Rookie of the Year Odds
- Oct. 3: India finishes the year as a -1350 favorite, followed by Rogers at +775.
- Sep. 26: The NL ROY odds stagnated again. India is still -1150.
- Sep. 20: There hasn’t been much movement lately. Cincinnati’s India (-1150) continues to be a short favorite, followed by Miami’s Rogers (+725)
- Sep. 12: The Cubs’ Frank Schwindel has popped up on the board late in the season at +4000, making him the fourth-favorite.
- Sep. 6: Trevor Rogers is finally back on the field and saw his improve from +800 to +575. India shortened from -875 to -950, though, so probably too little, too late.
- Aug. 30: While India is still a prohibitive favorite at -875, third-favorite Patrick Wisdom jumped all the way from +2500 to +1100 after a strong week for a rebuilding Cubs team that’s turned a corner to some extent.
- Aug. 22: This race is over, according to oddsmakers. India, who’s powering the Reds’ playoff push, went all the way from -350 to -800.
- Aug. 16: India has become a -350 favorite. Rogers, who hasn’t pitched since July 31st, has faded from +105 to +243.
- Aug. 11: India and Rogers have flip flopped. The Reds’ second baseman is now the -140 favorite, while the sidelined Rogers is +105.
- Aug. 8: The gap between Rogers (-140) and India (+105) shrunk again. Rogers was put on Miami’s family medical emergency list on Aug. 3.
- Aug. 2: India (+183) has moved significantly closer to Rogers (-163) even though Rogers shortened, as well.
- July 28: Finally back online, the NL ROY odds heavily favor Miami starter Trevor Rogers (-130) with Cincinnati 2B Jonathan India (+500) and Atlanta pitcher Ian Anderson (+500) tied for second.
- April 12: Jonathan India has made the biggest move in the first two weeks of the season, going from off the board to +1000 (fifth-favorite).
- Mar. 25: Pittsburgh’s Ke’Bryan Hayes (+325) has opened as the NL ROY favorite, with Miami’s Sixto Sanchez second (+475).

- Nov. 2: Finalists have been announced. Houston’s Cristian Javier joins Seattle’s Kyle Lewis and Chicago’s Luis Robert.
- Sep. 15: Luis Robert (-110) is now the odds-on favorite, Kyle Lewis (+120) also saw his odds improve.
- Sep. 9: Luis Robert (+125) has inched ahead of Kyle Lewis (+150) in what is still a two-horse race.
- Sep. 3: It’s still a neck-and-neck race between SEA’s Lewis (+150) and CHW’s Robert (+150) with MIN’s Randy Dobnak third at +700.
- Aug. 18: Mariners rookie Kyle Lewis has gone from off the board to +300 co-favorite in the first third of the season. He’s slashing .345/.420/.529 with five homers and 17 RBI in just 22 games.
- July 9: Jesus Luzardo (Oakland, P) has seen his odds improve nearly two-fold since April (+614 to +383) and he is now second-favorite behind Luis Robert.
- Apr. 28: Luis Robert is now the outright favorite at +310.
- Mar. 19: Early bettors are keen on Luis Robert (+400) and Jesus Luzardo (+600), who improved from +550 and +975, respectively, since Mar. 5.
- Mar. 3: Flame-throwing Michael Kopech opens as the AL ROY favorite at +300, followed by Detroit’s own prized pitching prospect Casey Mize at +450.

- Nov. 2: Favorite Jake Cronenworth of the Padres has been named a finalist along with the Phillies’ Alec Bohm and the Brewers’ Devin Williams.
- Sep. 15: Sixto Sanchez (+140) has shot up the board and is now seen as Jake Cronenworth’s (-110) biggest challenger.
- Sep. 9: Jake Cronenworth (-125) continues to lead Dustin May (+150).
- Sep. 3: SD’s Jake Cronenworth is now an odds-on favorite at -120.
- Aug. 18: Heavy preseason favorite Gavin Lux (+1200) has yet to play a game for LAD. But Dodgers’ pitcher Dustin May (the new favorite at +350) has sparkled in his first five starts of 2020, posting a 3.00 ERA and 1.250 WHIP.
- July 9: STL outfielder Dylan Carlson moved from outside of the top five all the way to second-favorite (+1202 to +917) as bettors expect him to see time in the lineup out of the gate.
- Apr. 27: It seems no price is too short for Lux, who improved from +237 all the way to +200 over the last month.
- Mar. 19: If you thought +350 was a short price for Lux, look away. The Dodger infielder is now +238 on average. No one else is shorter than +1000.
- Mar. 3: Gavin Lux is the short-shot, opening at +350. No other player is better than +800 at the outset.

- [July 9] Vladimir Guerrero Jr. put on quite a show at the MLB Home Run Derby, hitting 91 dingers, but he’s still behind Brandon Lowe in the odds to win the 2019 AL Rookie of the Year Award.
- [March 13] It should come as no surprise to see that Vladimir Guerrero Jr. has the shortest opening odds to win the 2019 AL Rookie of the Year Award. The 19-year-old phenom hit .381 last season at four different minor league stops.
