Canada vs Norway Prediction, Odds & Prop Picks for 2026 IIHF World Championship Bronze Medal Game (May 31)

Published:
- Canada is a massive -800 moneyline favorite over Norway in Sunday’s World Championship bronze medal game
- These two played a wild 6-5 overtime game in the group stage that needed a Mark Scheifele hat trick for Canada to survive

Nobody on Canada’s roster wanted to be in this game. They came to Switzerland for gold, went undefeated through the group stage and quarterfinals, then watched it all fall apart in a brutal second period against Finland on Saturday.
Now, Celebrini, Crosby and the rest of Canada’s roster have to pick themselves up and go after a bronze medal against a Norway team that nearly beat them 10 days ago.
Puck drop is 9:30 am ET from Swiss Life Arena in Zurich, with NHL Network and TSN on the call.
Canada vs Norway Odds
Canada’s -800 moneyline is one of the heaviest lines of the tournament, carrying about a 89% implied probability. Norway at +550 gives them roughly a 15% shot, and while that feels steep, the Norwegians did push Canada to overtime in the group stage.
The Canada vs Norway odds have the puck line at 2.5, with Canada at -155. The total is 6.5, which makes sense when their first meeting produced 11 goals. Canada’s team total is set at 4.5 (O -125 / U -105), while Norway’s sits at 2.5 (O +180 / U -238).

I’m not laying -800 on a moneyline, but I do think Canada covers -2.5 in the bronze medal game. Yes, Norway gave them fits in the group stage, but Canada generated 42 shots in that game to Norway’s 19. The talent gap between these two rosters is enormous.
Crosby said it best after the Finland loss: “You put this jersey on and you understand the pride that comes with that, regardless of whether it’s a bronze medal game.” That kind of mentality matters when you’ve got a roster full of NHL stars who are embarrassed after blowing a lead in the semis.
Canada vs Norway Goaltender Stats
The goaltending numbers are nearly identical, but the context is very different. Greaves has faced Sweden, Finland and the U.S. Haukeland has been great, but his three shutouts came against weaker competition. He stopped 36 of 42 Canada shots in the group stage meeting.
Norway also just got blanked 6-0 by Switzerland. Even with Haukeland’s tournament numbers, that’s a rough way to enter a medal game. Canada should be motivated and dangerous, and I expect them to cover.
Canada vs Norway Prop Picks
- Dylan Cozens Anytime Goal (+165 at DraftKings)
Cozens has four goals and seven points in nine games and has been one of Canada’s most consistent secondary scorers all tournament. He scored against Norway in the group stage meeting and has 19 shots on goal. I like him at +165 to open my Canada vs Norway prop picks.
- Dylan Holloway Anytime Goal (+240 at DraftKings)
Holloway scored against Finland in the semifinal and was named Canada’s best player. He has four goals and five points in nine games with 20 shots on goal. The +240 price is solid value on a forward who has been playing with confidence all tournament.
