The World Cup knockout stage continues on Friday with the last three Round of 32 fixtures. The slate opens with Australia vs Egypt at 2:00 pm ET in Arlington, followed by Argentina vs Cape Verde at 6:00 pm ET in Miami. Colombia vs Ghana rounds out Friday’s schedule at 9:30 pm ET in Kansas City.

I ran all three games through our proprietary A.I. prediction model to identify the computer’s best bet for each matchup. The table below summarizes the picks and best-available odds. Under the table, see the A.I.’s reasoning behind each wager.

World Cup Picks & A.I. Predictions (July 3)

MatchupPickBest-Available Odds
Australia vs EgyptEGY Moneyline (Reg. Time)+150 (40¢ at Kalshi)
Argentina vs Cape VerdeARG Over 2.5 Goals (Reg. Time)-104 (51¢ at Kalshi)
Colombia vs GhanaCOL Moneyline (Reg. Time)-212 (68¢ at Kalshi)
Readers who don’t live in a Kalshi region can find similar prices at other prediction markets like Polymarket and Novig.

The computer is taking a balanced approach to Friday’s World Cup picks. It is backing Egypt as a plus-money side in the opener, attacking the total instead of laying huge Argentina juice in the middle match, and closing the slate with Colombia to win in regulation at a fairly short number.

It hasn’t been a great 24 hours for the model. It has lost three of its last four picks and now sits at 45-36 (+3.16 units on one-unit wagers) for the tournament as a whole.

Egypt to Win in Regulation
40%

A.I. Reasoning: “Egypt enters the Round of 32 as an appealing plus-money play against an Australian side that struggles to generate consistent offense. Through three matches, Australia has managed just two goals on a meager 25 total shots while holding only 43.3% of the possession.

Egypt, by contrast, operates far more proactively. They control the ball at a 55% clip and have generated nearly double the offensive volume, racking up 47 total shots and finding the back of the net five times. Backing a team that dictates the pace and creates more chances is a sound strategy in knockout soccer. At a 40-cent (+150) Kalshi price, Egypt to win in regulation is the model’s preferred play in the opener.”

ARG vs CBV Computer Pick: Over 2.5 Goals (51¢ / -104 at Kalshi)

Argentina Over 2.5 Team Goals
51%

A.I. Reasoning: “Argentina operates like a well-oiled machine, dominating opponents with 57% average possession while pouring in eight goals and conceding just once. However, betting the Argentina moneyline at -699 violates core value principles and ties up too much capital for a minimal return. Instead, attacking the goal total provides a superior mathematical edge.

Cape Verde deserves immense credit for grinding its way into the knockout rounds, but its underlying metrics are bleak. It averages a tournament-low 37% possession. Relying on a deep defensive block against a relentless Argentine attack is a recipe for a blowout. At a 51-cent (-104) Kalshi price, Over 2.5 Goals avoids the massive moneyline vig while still investing in Argentina’s elite finishing.”

COL vs GHA Computer Pick: Colombia Moneyline (68¢ / -212 at Kalshi)

Colombia to Win in Regulation
68%

A.I. Reasoning: “Nestor Lorenzo has built a suffocating tactical system that threatens to entirely expose a reactive Ghanaian side. Colombia boasts an impressive 62.7% possession rate in its matches, launching 61 total shots while conceding just a single goal defensively. It forces opponents into mistakes and capitalizes efficiently.

Ghana’s path to the Round of 32 relies heavily on passive absorption. The Black Stars average a dismal 35.3% possession and mustered a shocking 16 total shots over three games. That passivity is fatal against South American opposition of this caliber. Colombia will dictate the tempo, monopolize the ball and steadily break down a fatigued defense. At a 68-cent (-212) Kalshi price, Colombia to win in regulation is the premier play to close out the slate.”
