The Detroit Tigers have won five in a row and look to keep the good times rolling when they host the Philadelphia Phillies for a 3-game set starting Friday.
The Phillies are trying to chase down Atlanta in the NL East, and they’ll find themselves as underdogs against Detroit, according to the MLB odds.
Action gets underway at 6:40pm ET from Comerica Park in Detroit, in a game that can be seen live nationally on MLB TV.

I am utilizing Kalshi for the moneyline and total markets, as their contract prices provide better payouts than traditional sportsbooks. Detroit is priced at 53¢ to win on Kalshi (roughly -113 American odds), which is notably better than the -120 found at FanDuel.
A Philadelphia victory costs 48¢, yielding an implied +108 payout that beats standard +105 line from bet365.
The total opened at 8.5 runs and remains completely static. Buying the Over at 54¢ (or +105 odds at BetMGM) presents solid value for a game featuring two starting pitchers with elevated ERAs. The stagnant market numbers indicate no massive influx of late sharp money forcing adjustments.
PHI Phillies vs DET Tigers Prediction
Despite possessing a stronger overall record, the Phillies struggle to string hits together on the road, ranking dead last in away OPS (.652). Conversely, the Tigers are respectable at home, scoring over four runs per game with a .726 OPS.
However, Philadelphia’s underlying contact metrics paint a picture of a dangerous boom-or-bust lineup.
They register an elite 89.3 mph average exit velocity on the road. On the basepaths, Philadelphia holds another distinct advantage. They utilize aggressive baserunning to manufacture runs, stealing nearly twice as many bases per game on the road (0.71) as the Tigers manage at home (0.38).
Looking at the MLB probable pitchers, Aaron Nola takes the mound for the Phillies carrying a 5.87 ERA and a 1.46 WHIP over 92 innings.
Jack Flaherty starts for the Tigers with a 4.60 ERA and 1.45 WHIP. Despite Flaherty pitching better recently, both arms allow heavy baserunner traffic. This points directly toward the Over on the game total, anticipating plenty of early scoring opportunities.
Phillies vs Tigers Props
Phillies Moneyline (+118 at Kalshi): For the game outcome, I am taking the Phillies moneyline. They field a superior offensive lineup capable of exploiting Flaherty.
Kyle Schwarber brings a .940 OPS and 32 home runs into this contest, while Bryce Harper adds 20 home runs. They can outpace the Tigers in a high-scoring shootout. The Phillies also rank third in MLB in away average exit velocity (89.3 mph).
Jack Flaherty Over 5.5 Strikeouts (-128 at FanDuel): My best player prop bet is Jack Flaherty Over 5.5 Strikeouts. Flaherty generates 10.85 strikeouts per nine innings. The Phillies lineup strikes out frequently on the road, hitting just .221 away from home. Flaherty simply needs to pitch five innings to clear this threshold.
Kyle Schwarber 2+ Total Bases (-115 at FanDuel): Additionally, I like Schwarber to record two or more total bases. His power numbers make him a constant extra-base threat against a vulnerable opposing pitcher.
