I am weighing 5-on-5 structure, power-play production, goaltending context and recent trends. The prices below were available on Kalshi as of Friday evening.

NHL Best Bets for Saturday Oct 10

The reigning Western Conference champs are off to a 4-1 start, outscoring their opponents 21-13 so far. I’m banking on another big offensive performance for the Stanley Cup odds contender tonight, versus a Kings squad that has yet to taste victory.

Los Angeles Kings vs. Vegas Golden Knights Prediction

Vegas Golden Knights Moneyline
61%

My Kings vs Golden Knights prediction starts with Vegas in a favorable situational spot. The Golden Knights have jumped out to a strong start using aggressive neutral-zone forechecking to disrupt opponents. Their 5-on-5 structure has also been elite during this opening stretch.

Los Angeles has stumbled out of the gate, dropping its first three contests. The road squad is 1-8 straight up over its last nine games against opponents with winning records, a stretch that reflects repeated trouble generating high-danger scoring chances.

Vegas has won the last three meetings in this divisional matchup. The Golden Knights are also 12-5 over their last 17 games as a home favorite, supported by sturdy goaltending and disciplined defensive-zone coverage.

A 61¢ contract pays $1 on an outright Vegas victory, implying a 61% win probability before fees. That is a reasonable way to back the home team without laying heavy traditional sportsbook juice.

Edmonton Oilers vs. San Jose Sharks Prediction

  • Edmonton Oilers ML (59¢ on Kalshi)

59%

My Oilers vs Sharks prediction leans on Edmonton’s record in this Pacific Division rivalry, going 7-1 against San Jose in the previous eight meetings. The Oilers should control possession from the opening puck drop and pin the Sharks deep in their own end.

San Jose’s defensive structure remains porous, with the Sharks surrendering 3.5 goals per game. That creates a difficult matchup against an Edmonton power play converting at a lethal 25% rate, led by Hart Trophy odds favorite Connor McDavid. Sustained pressure and special-teams chances are the key reasons to expect an offensive game from the visitors.

Macklin Celebrini’s status remains a day-to-day uncertainty, so the final lineup should be checked before the puck drops. Regardless, Edmonton has enough established offensive firepower to stress a San Jose defense that has struggled under pressure.

Buying Edmonton at 59¢ returns $1 if the Oilers win and represents a 59.0% implied probability before fees.

Toronto Maple Leafs vs. Colorado Avalanche Prediction

  • Colorado Avalanche ML (66¢ on Kalshi)

66%

My Maple Leafs vs Avalanche prediction favors Colorado’s home-ice possession advantage. John Tavares missed Toronto’s Friday practice for personal reasons, and his status for this game is not confirmed as of the time of writing. If he cannot play, the Maple Leafs would need to adjust their top-six forward group and center depth; if he dresses, that concern is reduced.

The Avalanche excel at driving pace in transition and generating odd-man rushes. A Tavares absence would remove an experienced center who handles important defensive-zone assignments and faceoffs, allowing Colorado to target mismatches through the neutral zone. Even if Tavares is available, Colorado’s ability to sustain pressure remains the central matchup edge.

Colorado should dictate the tempo by keeping the puck in the offensive zone and attacking before Toronto can establish its defensive shape. The Maple Leafs could struggle to match the Avalanche’s top-line production if their center depth is not at full strength.

A 66¢ contract on Colorado pays $1 for a win, equaling a 66.0% implied probability before fees.
