The No. 13 Alabama Crimson Tide (5-2, 3-2 SEC) are desperate to right the ship as they return to Tuscaloosa to host the Texas A&M Aggies (4-3, 1-3 SEC) this afternoon. Kickoff is set for 3:30 p.m. ET at Bryant-Denny Stadium, with ABC carrying the broadcast.

Mired in a rare two-game losing streak, Alabama’s offense has hit a wall. After averaging 49.6 points over their first five games, the Crimson Tide managed just 17 points against Georgia and 10 against Tennessee.

On the other sideline, Texas A&M recently secured a 41-0 shutout over The Citadel. However, true road games have been a different story, as the Aggies scored just six points at LSU and six more at Missouri. Texas A&M vs Alabama Prediction

  • Pick: Alabama -13 (-111 at bet365)

Fading Texas A&M on the road is the logical angle. The Aggies have scored 12 combined points in trips to LSU and Missouri, and Marcel Reed has thrown six interceptions against seven touchdowns. That is a dangerous profile against an Alabama defense with 10 interceptions and a +5 turnover margin.

Alabama’s recent offensive struggles are well-documented, but the season-long efficiency gap still favors the home team. The Crimson Tide have scored on 28 of 29 red zone trips, including 24 touchdowns. Laying 13 points with one of the preseason National Championship odds contenders returning home is a number I am comfortable backing.

Alabama’s Keelon Russell has completed 129 of 191 passes for 1,746 yards, 12 touchdowns and four interceptions, averaging just over 9.1 yards per attempt.

The risk is Texas A&M’s recent pass defense, which allowed just 301 passing yards and two touchdowns combined over its last three games. Even so, I trust Alabama’s red zone finishing and turnover edge to create enough separation over four quarters.

Alabama’s -588 moneyline in the college football odds indicates that oddsmakers view a Texas A&M upset as highly unlikely. With the vig removed, the market-implied probabilities are approximately 82.5% for Alabama and 17.5% for Texas A&M.

A $20 wager on Alabama yields just $3.40 in profit, while the same bet on Texas A&M at +450 pays $90. For most bettors, the spread is the more practical market, with Alabama -13 at -111 requiring a 52.6% win rate to break even.

Texas A&M vs Alabama Best Bets

Best Bet: Over 50.5

  • Pick: Over 50.5 (-108 at bet365)

My Texas A&M vs Alabama total pick is Over 50.5. Alabama’s defense should do the heavy lifting, but the home team’s scoring profile still points toward eclipsing the total. The Crimson Tide average 39.3 points per game and have turned 96.6% of red zone trips into points this season. Before making any bet today, scan the college football betting apps to find the best price.

If Alabama lands near its season average, Texas A&M needs roughly two touchdowns to push this game past 50.5. Reed’s interceptions could also hand the Crimson Tide short fields, and at -108 this bet only needs to cash 51.9% of the time to break even.
