Sunday brings a five-game NHL slate for us to wager on. Florida visits Chicago, Colorado is in Nashville, Minnesota takes on Vancouver, the Islanders face Dallas, and Montreal meets Winnipeg in the Heritage Classic.
I’m leaning on shot volume for most of my betting card. When a team piles up shots and its opponent can’t slow them down, the top shooters get more chances to clear their lines. I’ve also got one goalscorer bet on a player who’s been filling the net all October.
All prices come from bet365, and you can compare them against the latest NHL Odds before puck drop. Here are my Sunday NHL player props, best bets and anytime goalscorer pick.

Sunday NHL Best Bets
All four of my Sunday NHL player props are priced as favorites. The three shot props sit between -152 and -170, which works out to roughly a 60% to 63% implied chance on each.
Kirill Kaprizov’s -120 anytime goal price implies about a 54.5% chance. That’s a short number for a goalscorer prop, and it shows how highly the market rates him right now.
NHL Prop Pick #1: Joel Eriksson Ek Over 2.5 Shots on Goal
- Joel Eriksson Ek Over 2.5 Shots on Goal (-152 at bet365)
Minnesota sets up as the shot-heavy side in Vancouver. The Wild average 31.1 shots per game, while the Canucks allow 33.5 per game and generate just 20.1 of their own.
That puts Joel Eriksson Ek in a great spot. He’s gone over 2.5 shots in 10 of his last 11 road games, averaging 4.18 per game. That rolling sample stretches beyond this season, so it’s a long-running habit rather than a hot week.
At -152, bet365 gives this a 60.3% implied chance. With Vancouver struggling to hold the puck, I like him to land at least three. New users can sign up with the bet365 promo code and get a bonus to use on tonight’s game.
NHL Prop Pick #2: Nathan MacKinnon Over 3.5 Shots on Goal
- Nathan MacKinnon Over 3.5 Shots on Goal (-165 at bet365)
My Nathan MacKinnon shots pick starts with his consistent volume. The Hart Trophy odds candidate has 48 shots through 11 games, good for about 4.4 per night, to go with 20 points (7 goals, 13 assists).
The matchup helps. Colorado averages 30 shots per game, and Nashville allows 30.1. The Predators manage just 24.9 shots per game themselves, while the Avs allow 27.9, so Colorado should spend plenty of time in the offensive zone.
The -165 price carries a 62.3% implied chance. His season average already sits above this line, and I expect him to keep peppering the net in Nashville.
NHL Prop Pick #3: Kyle Palmieri Over 1.5 Shots on Goal
- Kyle Palmieri Over 1.5 Shots on Goal (-170 at bet365)
I’m keeping my third shots prop simple. Kyle Palmieri needs just two shots to cash, and he’s cleared 1.5 in five straight games against Dallas, averaging 3.2 per game. That head-to-head run covers more than this season.
Both clubs have started well, with the Islanders at 5-3-2 and the Stars at 6-3-1. This -170 prop carries a steep 63% implied chance, but a two-shot line against a team he consistently tests is one I’m happy to lay.
Sunday NHL Anytime Goalscorer Pick
- Kirill Kaprizov Anytime Goal (-120 at bet365)
My NHL anytime goalscorer pick is Kaprizov against Vancouver’s struggling defence. He’s scored 12 goals in 12 games, and Minnesota rolls into Vancouver a night after beating Seattle 5-1.
The Canucks are 2-9-1 and give up 33.5 shots per game. Their penalty kill sits at 65%, so any Minnesota power play hands Kaprizov another strong look at the net.
Bet365 has him at -120, a 54.5% implied chance. With a goal-per-game pace against one of the league’s weakest starts, I’m comfortable paying that price.
