A Kansas City Chiefs superfan is potentially a much more successful sports bettor than he is a bank robber.

Xaviar Michael Babudar, a Chiefs superfan who is well known on social media under his handle “ChiefsAholic,” was recently arrested and charged with armed robbery on Friday, Dec. 16, for his alleged involved in a bank robbery in Bixby, Oklahoma.

His bail has been set at $200,000, but if the Kansas City Chiefs and Patrick Mahomes continue their success, he could have some funds to help out with that.

Sports Bettor Turned Bank Robber?

Babudar is well known in the Chiefs community for his social media presence and for wearing a full wolf costume to all Chiefs home games and several of their away games. His twitter account has been silent since Dec. 16, which would make sense under the circumstances, since he was allegedly busy that day attempting to rob a bank in Oklahoma.

According to the police report, Babudar was wearing a mask during the incident, but it has been confirmed that it is NOT the wolf mask he wears to games.

A quick search through his social media accounts reveal two things…he loves the Chiefs and he loves to gamble.

A sharp-eyed reader, @Kbagrie on Twitter, turned our attention to a hefty bet Babudar placed back in June on Patrick Mahomes to win the NFL MVP. The $5,000 bet will net Babudar a $45,000 total payout if Mahomes win the MVP, which seems likely after the recent injury to MVP-favorite Jalen Hurts.

Mahomes is currently the odds-on favorite, according to DraftKings, which has him as a -330 favorite. Hurts is second at +425.

And if the Chiefs win the Super Bowl? He’s got that  covered too, this time with a ticket that could pay out $55,000!

The Chiefs are currently the third favorite team to win the Super Bowl at +550, according to DraftKings, behind only the Eagles (+475) and the Bills (+330).

Can He Claim His Winnings if Incarcerated?

Both of his bets are retail sports betting tickets. He’ll need to physically cash them in or mail them in to get his winnings, which may be a little hard if he’s behind bars.

We found Babudar’s address on a civil action lawsuit he levied against Robert Kraft and the New England Patriots this past September for an alleged “slip and fall” incident at Gillette Stadium.

We reached out to the Kansas Lottery, which oversees Kansas sports betting, and a representative told us there is no specific state sports betting rule or regulation that pertains to something as strange as this.

The Kansas Lottery rep reached out to Penn Sports Interactive, which owns Barstool Sportsbook, for the answer. The Hollywood Casino’s retail sportsbook is operated by Barstool Sportsbook.

According to Penn Sports Interactive, a winning ticket is valid for 365 days after the event takes place and as long as any patron presents a winning ticket at the casino it has to be honored.

So, as long as Babudar still has the tickets and can get them to a trusted member of his family, or a friend, if they hit, he’ll have a nice little nest egg waiting for him when everything settles down.

Maybe he can use some of his winnings to take lessons on how to be a better bank robber? Or, maybe, you know he could just try and turn his life around.

Either way, nobody is going to be rooting harder for Mahomes or the Chiefs for the next few months.
