Anthony Joshua’s Betting Outlook vs Franklin

Joshua aims to rebound from consecutive losses to the current unified heavyweight world heavyweight champion, Oleksandr Usyk.

This is Joshua’s first fight since December 2015 where a world title isn’t on the line and is an all-important, career crossroads contest.

The former two-time unified world champion will be the partisan favorite (for the first time since 2016) as he clashes with the hulking American heavyweight contender, Franklin.

Joshua is 7-0 fighting in this venue and looks to extend that localized unbeaten streak in this London return.

Oleksandr Usyk, loss via UD Fight 2 Rodney Moore, win via TKO
Kubrat Pulev, win via KO Fight 3 Pavel Sour, win via UD
Andy Ruiz, win via UD Fight 4 Jerry Forrest, win via SD

This is a key fight for Joshua to renew aspects of his image that were tarnished a touch when he went on an odd post-rant rant that had a certain bitterness to it.

Also, to reaffirm the idea that the 2012 Olympic gold medalist is still a key player in that world title scene.

Jermaine Franklin’s Betting Outlook vs Joshua

Franklin is looking to rebound from his first professional loss as a pugilist in an outing against former WBC title challenger Dillian Whyte in a competitive outing.

A contest where a certain segment of the sweet science community felt like Franklin should have got the nod on points as opposed to Whyte. Franklin feels like he can only win this fight via knockout since the British boxer is such a massive star and the American is looking to silence the crowd by way of turning out AJ’s lights.

Joshua has a few edges on paper leading into this fight including five inches of reach and a deeper combative resume overall.

Also, Franklin has a sixty-six percent finishing rate compared to 92% of Joshua’s bouts stoppages.

Anthony Joshua vs Jermaine Franklin Prediction

This prizefight is slated for twelve rounds but I do not see this one going to the judges’ scorecards.

There’s a reason why the prop bet on this fight not going the distance is positioned at -450, which I ultimately think has good value.

Also for perspective bettors, a prop bet on Joshua winning via KO or TKO (-330) presents good value in my estimation as well.

Pick: Anthony Joshua (-1200)
